From this rural gem, you're just a short drive from Cornwall's top attractions and the delightful South Cornish coast. One of two charmingly converted cottage-style properties set in private grounds of four acres, it's the perfect hideaway for a couple in search of a tranquil and romantic base from which to explore. Take time for sundowners and al fresco dining on your private patio, or a leisurely meander through the extensive gardens.

This traditional stone-built cottage has a generous sized and comfortable living room, where the wide doorway to your secluded patio draws the garden inwards. The style's bright and airy throughout with charmingly lumpy hand-sculpted walls, natural woodwork, cheerful colour accents and carefully exposed stonework. The compact modern kitchen has cool green garden views. Upstairs the cosy double bedroom has windows on three sides bathing the room in soft light.

The Eden Project, Heligan Gardens, Mevagissey fishing harbour and Charlestown's sailing heritage are within 8 miles. At Pentewan 5 miles away, rent bikes, kayaks and paddleboards. Go sea angling from Mevagissey - you might catch a meal to remember. Walk the renowned South West Coast Path, or stroll a mile to the local pub or shop. Truro, St Austell and Fowey, all within 13 miles, have varied shopping and dining. Join in the Cornish food revolution – pick from the best local produce and seafood. For a day trip, Cornwall's north coast beckons – 15 miles away is Newquay's hip surf scene, 5 miles further are Padstow's famous restaurants.

Cottage itself ideal for 2 people and bedroom very cosy and comfy. The kitchen and shower are fit for tiny people but would be a problem for larger guests.

Everything as described in the cottage details. Owners very helpful with information about the local area. It was the ideal base to explore Cornwall, although there was not a lot in St Austell to make you want to visit the town. Some lovely beaches within a short driving distance

Absolutely lovely little place to stay. Everything you could want is available. Such peace and quiet in a lovely tranquil setting. Unobtrusive owners next door who are there if you need them and a little welcome cream tea to start your stay off is such a lovely touch. Wish we were back!

Absolutely lovely cottage - clean and comfy. The cottage was near to main roads to be able to visit places. Nothing was any trouble for the owners if you needed to make contact with them. Would definately stay here again.
