Escape to this spacious chalet sitting on a quiet cul-de-sac in Rock, within easy reach of Porthilly Cove, St Enodoc Golf Club and the surf beaches of Polzeath. Sleeping eight people across four bedrooms, it's ideal for families or groups of friends who are searching for a relaxed coastal haven to call home while they discover some of the finest hikes in North Cornwall. Pick up a paddleboard at Rock Beach (1 mile) and spend a wonderful morning out on the Camel Estuary, looking across to Padstow on the far bank. In the afternoon, follow the South West Coast Path northward towards Polzeath and treat yourself to a seaside wood-fired sauna. In the evening, come home to fire up the charcoal BBQ in the garden and dine alfresco on the patio as the stars come out.
Pull into your private parking spot (there’s room for two cars) and take the steps up to the front door. Inside you’ll find a bright and cheerful home, where a beautiful, sun-drenched oak-framed conservatory leads to a lovely lounge/diner. Pale tones create a bright and breezy atmosphere and a farmhouse-style dining table seats the whole group in comfort. Cook up a storm in the country-style kitchen and share a casual meal, or head out into the sheltered garden to dine alfresco on the patio. Settle in for an evening in front of the Smart TV, and when the day is done, you’ll find a king-size bedroom and two twin rooms on the ground floor, as well as a master room with two children's beds tucked into the eaves (please request the children’s beds in advance) upstairs. Two shower rooms and one bathroom with a freestanding bath and shower attachment on the ground floor, and a family bathroom with a freestanding bath and shower attachment on the first floor, complete the layout. In the morning, take a seat on the bench on the small front patio to sip your morning coffee.
Head to Porthilly Cove (1 mile) to follow the beach around to Rock at low tide and hop on the foot ferry across to Padstow to explore its winding medieval streets and the seafood stalls that line the quay. Alternatively, make your way into Polzeath (2.5 miles) to hire a surfboard and take on the rolling Atlantic swell. Further afield, seek out the dramatic Arthurian headland at Tintagel (13.5 miles) to explore the cliff-top castle ruins and Merlin's Cave.
