A truly magical contemporary cottage, this outstanding North Cornwall retreat captures far-reaching views out along the rugged coastline and over the sea. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom abode is perched high on the cliffs at Polzeath, just 0.5 miles from the sandy beach, where you can swim, sunbathe, picnic and take to the waves with your surfboard. Pick up the South West Coast Path here too and follow it for 2.5 miles out to the National Trust’s dramatic Pentire Point, where the astounding views just continue and you may even catch sight of dolphins, porpoises or seals in the sea. Keen walkers may also like to lace up their boots and head 14 miles to the fringes of Bodmin Moor, with its exciting footpaths. The Camel Trail, which runs for 18 miles between Padstow and Wenfordbridge, is mostly free of traffic and therefore perfect for walking, as well as cycling.
Follow the steps down from the driveway to let yourselves into this bright, inviting holiday home. From the hall, stroll into the lounge and prepare to be wowed by the incredible views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. Pull the bi-folding doors back onto the terrace on sunny days and step out into the salty sea air. Sink back into the soft seating to absorb the scenery from inside or watch the Smart TV with the wood burner glowing on chilly days. Head through to the kitchen to whip up hearty feasts for your family and friends, then call them to join you at the table in the dining room. The kitchen here is well equipped with all the appliances and accessories you will need for self-catering. There is also a comprehensive utility room and a family shower room, with two showers for rinsing off the sea and salt, plus a separate WC. Those fancying a few quiet moments at the end of a busy day can take a few steps up into the snug from the hall. Your bedrooms are on the first floor of the house, together with the family bathroom. Wake up to spectacular sea views after savouring a superb night’s sleep. The bedrooms include three doubles and one super-king-size, which has zip-and-link beds that can be made into a twin if discussed at booking. One of the doubles enjoys an en-suite shower room and has steps up to a private balcony where you can enjoy your morning coffee.
Wander onto the terrace and into the garden to immerse yourselves further in the ocean views. Steps lead down to the lawn from the patio. Grill on the BBQ and dine out in the fresh sea air against the magnificent backdrop. There is ample driveway parking at this cottage.
