Stroll less than 500 metres down to the sandy beach from this impressive Polzeath holiday home. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom property nestles at the heart of the colourful village and captures sea views from its first-floor balcony. It also comes with an enclosed garden where children and pets can play out in the salty sea air and summer sunshine.

Step inside to find accommodation with a fresh, coastal appeal and hints to its seaside location through many interesting features and eye-catching accessories. Designed with a reverse-level layout to make the most of the views, the four beautifully finished bedrooms can all be found downstairs. These include a king-size and a double, each with an en-suite shower room, and two twins. The family bathroom is also here. Climb the striking staircase to emerge in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its vaulted ceiling and skylight windows that bring the sunshine streaming in. Conjure up tasty Cornish feasts in here for your nearest and dearest, then dine inside or out on the balcony. Settle in for movie nights in front of the Smart TV whenever the mood takes you. There is a separate WC at this level. Spill out onto the generous balcony at every opportunity. Cook out on the charcoal balcony and relax under the stars. There is a useful outdoor shower down in the garden. Guests have parking for four cars.

Pull on your walking boots and venture 2 miles to Pentire Point to see if you can spot dolphins. Head 7 miles into Wadebridge to stock up on local produce, dine out and strike out along a section of the Camel Trail. Catch the ferry across the River Camel to Padstow to wander the pretty town. Plan a trip to secluded Trevone Bay, 16 miles away, with its tidal pool.

We all enjoyed the house and location, and especially the outside sitting area, when it was nice in the afternoon. It would be even better in the summer with longer days. The front drive area was great for our dog to run and play. The local stores and restaurants, we tried a few, where all excellent.

Great views over the see and beach. Easy walk to the beach. Upstairs is light and airy. We had a great family roast on the patio. We want to book it again for next year. Lots of parking for four cars.

This is the second time we've stayed at Cothelstone. It's a beautiful house in a lovely location. The sea views are amazing - not to mention the stunning sunsets. It has a lovely open plan layout, so works well for a family to mix. There is plenty of parking and the garden is secure for the dog. Will definitely be back.

This is the second time we stayed at Cothelstone and it already feels like home from home. The house is absolutely georgeous, light and spacious. Bedrooms downstaris consist of 2 double rooms (both ensuite) and 2 twin rooms, with another family bathroom. Ideally for 2 families of 4 to stay. There is a garden hose outside to hose down the dog after a sandy or muddy walk and there is an outdoor shower for the ones who have braved the sea.
