An attractive, 16th century, ivy-clad former grain store, The Granary has been converted into a homely cottage, a charming spot for a romantic break or a family getaway. Set on a hill above the glistening river, it is just a half-mile stroll from Boddinnick Landing where you can hop on a ferry to Fowey.

The simple and comfortable interior makes The Granary the perfect base for exploring this beautiful section of the South Cornwall coast. Return from a busy day to relax in the cosy lounge and enjoy a peaceful night's sleep in the restful bedrooms before waking up refreshed to a breakfast cooked up in the farm-style kitchen. On sunny days, sip your morning coffee on the decked sun terrace in the garden.

The Granary is within half a mile of a farm shop and local pub, and just down the road is the sleepy village of Polruan (2.7 miles) where you'll find further amenities. The charming town of Fowey can be reached by a 15-minute ferry journey from Bodinnick or Polruan. Here you'll find boutique shops, cafes and pubs, as well as boat trips up the river and out to sea. The South West Coast Path runs past Polruan and through Fowey, taking in beautiful scenery in both directions. Head inland from The Granary to visit Bodmin Moor (18 miles), and the iconic biomes of the Eden Project (13.5 miles). The unspoilt fishing village of Polperro (6 miles) and charming seaside town of Looe (11 miles) make for a lovely day out.

The cottage location is in a blissfully peaceful part of Cornwall, with some beautiful coastline and pretty villages close by. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and once the sea mist burned off sitting out on the decking with pretty hanging baskets was very restful. We had a great stay at the Old Granary. The owners, Dave and Rachel, were very friendly and the location of the cottage was very peaceful. Within convenient driving distance to Mevagissy, Looe, Polperro and Liskeard. (nearest large supermarket, Morrisons, Aldi and B&M in Liskeard). Plenty of room for the dog to exercise in a large grassy garden.

This was our second visit to The Granary and it did not disappoint. We were given a very welcome by our hosts Rachel, David and Nick. The property is in a fabulous location and is very well appointed. It was so relaxing to be able to stay in such a comfortable and safe property with the owners living close by in a separate property.
