Super-pet-friendly, this three-bedroomed holiday home is in the heart of Porthleven. A choice of social spaces – one with a wood burner – and an enclosed garden add all-weather appeal, while private parking means you can explore the town at your own pace.
Just 300m from Porthleven harbour, this welcoming residence makes a fabulous base for a break with family or friends. Walk through the hallway into the open-plan kitchen/diner. You’ll find all the essentials for fuss-free self-catering in the former, while the latter is a social hub with a farmhouse-style dining suite plus a TV and sideboard full of games, toys and jigsaws. There’s another TV in the main living room, alongside a large sofa, additional soft seating and a wood burner. A cloakroom completes the ground floor layout, while upstairs there’s a family bathroom and three bedrooms. The master has a king-sized bed and en-suite shower room, the second has a double bed and a bay window with views over the harbour below, and the third room has twin beds. At the rear of the property, the enclosed garden has a lawn where children and pets can play while you fire up the BBQ and unwind on the patio. The outdoor shower is handy after days on the sands; there’s storage for beach gear and space to park two cars too.
Porthleven has a picturesque harbour where small boats land their daily catch, much of it headed for the town’s cafes, restaurants and fishmongers. Photographers love to capture waves crashing over the sea defences; on calm days, low tide reveals intriguing rock pools. Walk along the pier wall for a fine view of the famous clock tower and Porthleven Beach which extends 3 miles to the Looe Bar. Other must-see sites include St Michael’s Mount at Marazion (9 miles) and, half a mile away, the National Trust’s Penrose, where 17 miles of paths and multi-use trails wind through woodland, plantation and parkland.
