Up to six guests and one canine pal can stay in this riverside retreat in a quiet Cornish village. Enjoy sunny mornings on the terrace and cosy evenings in the open-plan living space. Spend your holiday exploring the nearby walking trails, beaches and south Cornwall’s coastal towns.
Step inside and head upstairs to reach the open-plan living area of this reverse-level property. The lounge/kitchen/diner is airy and bright, with natural light pouring through a wall of windows beside the dining table. Admire the view of the boats bobbing along the river as you dine with your loved ones. Adjacent is a farmhouse-style kitchen with wooden countertops and a peninsula with a breakfast bar. On the ground floor is a family bathroom and three bedrooms – a king-size with an en-suite, a twin and a double. Outside, you’ll find a sun terrace with furniture. There is free parking at the village car park, 500 metres away.
Unwind in the sleepy village of Bodinnick, which is home to a pub and the Hall Walk Nature Reserve. Catch a boat from the ferry terminal to cross the river to Fowey (1 mile). Here you can wander around the natural harbour, browse the independent shops and visit St Catherine’s Castle, which was built by Henry VIII. In the opposite direction, you can walk the South West Coast Path to the tranquil sandy shores of the National Trust’s Lantic Bay (2.5 miles). Also nearby are the Eden Project (13.5 miles) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (22 miles).
