It would be helpful to put a seat in the shower room.

The cottage was good, but not fully suitable for a baby as no cot or high chair were provided on request. It was clean and reasonably designed to provide good access for self catering. The heating system worked well to keep the cottage cosy and the electric shower was reasonably spacious although not the most powerful of sprays! As a nice touch,Read more we were provided with complimentary hot cross buns! In addition the cottage was stocked with milk, tea bags, coffee and salt/pepper. No butter or spread fustratingly, meaning we had to wait until 0900 the next day before we could use the buns! In terms of entertainment, the cottage has a smart TV with most smart apps preinstalled, such as Netflix, Disney, YOUTUBE, etc. Additionally there is a cabinet of board games available, with classics such as Monopoly and Jenga! We made a night of playing Cornwall edition of Monopoly! The double bed was quite small, and very difficult to accommodate 2 parents and a baby (no cot!) The site is limited with only a small shop opening 0900-1300 and 1500-1800. They do not stock fresh fruit or vegetables, so be prepared to shop outside the site if you want to self cater! The restaurant is only open from 1200 -2300 most days. The earliest they open is 0900, but this is only available Mon, Fri, Sat and Sun, so be prepared to make your own arrangements for breakfast! The pool facility is good, but shower facilities are limited, permitting rinse only for swimmers (not to wash). The restaurant was adequate and comparable to a standard Wetherspoons experience in terms of service and food quality, although the price was higher! Most of the staff seemed inexperienced and struggled to take a basic order! One bar person didn't understand what type of glass to serve prosecco in and even asked if we wanted ice in the glass!? Still worth a look for a secluded stay. Just be prepared to bring your own food or travel out for takeaway or dining out! Hide

Meriel's is a lovely cottage. It is compact but very well equipped and has everything you will need and more. We stayed with our two children and enjoyed the access to the pool. We appreciated the tea, coffee, milk and biscuits left for us on arrival. The surrounding villages of St Tudy and St Breward have lovely pub restaurants, and both are well Read moreworth a visit.
