Enjoy beach days and countryside adventures from the comfort of this delightful, converted barn in a peaceful rural setting. Sleeping four guests and welcoming two canine companions, it is ideal for a family or group of friends seeking to explore beautiful North Cornwall. Dog-friendly Duckpool Beach, 3 miles away, can be reached by a lovely path through ancient woodland, and the village of Kilkhampton is within a mile. Here, you’ll find shops, traditional pubs and a charming tearoom. Colourful Bude (5 miles) is famous for its magnificent golden sands, beloved by surfers and families alike.

One of four similar barn conversions, this characterful retreat has splendid, vaulted ceilings in the light and airy first-floor living space. The lounge area houses comfortable sofas, while the well-planned kitchen has all the culinary essentials you might need, together with a separate dining area. At bedtime, head downstairs to enjoy a restful sleep in a king-size bedroom or the twin room. A family bathroom is also on this floor. Outside the barn, an enclosed seating space offers a cosy spot for al fresco dining. An external staircase leads up to a large, enclosed garden with a lawn and a pretty wooden chalet with seating. Both have lovely views across rolling countryside. There is private parking for three cars.

Wonderful sea and country walking trails abound, with magnificent views along the South-West Coast Path. Novices keen to ride the Atlantic rollers will find watersports schools on Bude’s main beaches, while the sheltered sea pool offers quieter waters. Hire a canoe or kayak for a relaxing journey down Bude‘s historic canal or take a walk along the towpath. Enjoy family fun at the Monster Slip and Slide water park and visit the Tamar Lakes (4 miles), for tranquil walking and cycling trails, plus a range of watersports at the activity centre.

April Cottage at Sanctuary Farm is a delightful place to go to enjoy a holiday in North Cornwall. The farm setting is splendidly rural and tranquil and the view from the completely dog friendly garden is magnificent. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Kilkhampton is the nearest village with shops, and the Co-Op was very well stocked. BudeRead more, about 6 miles away, has several large supermarkets. You can walk to Duckpool beach from Sanctuary Farm, mostly through a lovely shady forest but the last half a mile is a tarmac road and its steep. Its a beautiful and dramatic little bay and definitely worth either walking or driving to, but make sure you google the tides. Its much better to go when the tide is out and theres plenty of sand. Its dog friendly all year; another bonus for us. Near enough to Port Isaac for a days visit as well as Tintagel and beautiful Boscastle. Morwenstowe is a great place to visit for a walk along the cliffs to Hawkers Hut, the Rectory tea rooms and the excellent Bush Inn pub. Another excellent pub we found was the Preston Gate in Poughill near Bude. Tiny car park though and very popular. Black Rock and Widemouth bay were good places to go as well with the Bay View Inn a dog friendly pit stop. We thoroughly enjoyed our fortnight at Sanctuary Farm. Hide

We weren't sure what to expect but it was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. We had the beach within walking distance. Lovely walks just outside the door. If you want a relaxing holiday with your pups then this is the place. Unfortunately we had to leave Friday night instead of Saturday morning because of family, but will definitely book another holiRead moreday when we can Hide

We had a lovely holiday, the cottage was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed the rural location, perfect for walks with our dog yet still close enough for all amenities. I would not hesitate to go back again.

A wonderful stay in April's cottage, so peaceful and the house had everythingwe needed. The secure garden was great for our pooch and the sheltered seating area was perfect to sit with a cheeky tipple looking out at the fabulous view. Lovely 1.5mile walk through the woods to the beach. Would highly recommend.

We had a lovely welcome from Sue on arrival. The cottage is warm and cozy, with very comfortable furniture. An Ideal place to stay with our 2 dogs - the enclosed garden was so safe for them. We enjoyed a hot chocolate in the garden at night listening to the owls hooting.
