This beautifully converted barn is just 5 miles from renowned golden beaches on the magnificent North Cornwall coast, yet also in a peaceful country setting. Perfect for families or friends sharing, it sleeps five guests, along with one four-legged companion. The rural hideaway is within a mile of the village of Kilkhampton, where you’ll find shops, a tearoom and two welcoming pubs. Dog-friendly Duckpool Beach is just 3 miles away and can also be reached from a footpath through ancient woodland. With exhilarating coastal views and cliffs carpeted with wildflowers, this National Trust beach is an ideal spot to join the glorious South West Coast Path.

One of four barn conversions, this welcoming holiday home exudes character and charm, with original beams and a vaulted ceiling. The spacious first-floor lounge/diner houses comfortable sofas and a pretty dining area, with a wood burner adding a cosy touch. French doors with a Juliet balcony overlook the rolling countryside. There’s a well-planned kitchen, and a snug tucked into the mezzanine floor provides a quiet corner. Downstairs, find a family bathroom and three charming bedrooms: a Victorian-style king-size, a twin and a single. Outside, a raised seating area has wonderful rural views and there is private parking for three cars.

Lively Bude (5 miles) is famous for its golden sands and has a good range of shops and eateries. The beaches are a magnet for surfers, with calmer waters to be found in the beautiful sea pool on Summerleaze Beach. You can hire a kayak, canoe or pedalo for a peaceful trip down historic Bude Canal or enjoy a stroll down the towpath. Scenic Castle Bude has a fascinating heritage museum, exhibitions, galleries and a cafe. Lovely holiday. We enjoyed the scones...thank you. There were nice views across the fields and lots of places to walk from the cottage. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds comfortable. We would stay again.
