Answer the call of the coast with a stay in Polruan, where this dramatically positioned cliffside cottage offers a truly immersive seaside escape. With panoramic sea views, a private mooring, steps leading directly into the water, and an outdoor hot shower perfect for rinsing off sandy wetsuits, this holiday home is designed for those who want to spend every moment embracing the coast. Inside, the property is a stylish, contemporary base for up to four guests. Special touches such as underfloor heating and a generous welcome pack ensure every family or group of friends feels both spoilt and utterly at home.

Luxurious accents and a sophisticated finish set this cottage apart, particularly in the open-plan living space made for slow mornings and tranquil evenings. The standout feature is the bi-fold glass doors that open fully onto the terrace, creating a unique breakfast-bar-style dining experience with breathtaking sea views. A picture window beside the plush sofas in the lounge offers the perfect spot to watch the boats drift by – ideal when there’s nothing worth watching on the Smart TV. Outside, the terrace is a sumptuous space complete with a seating area for sunbathing. You’ll also find secure storage for paddleboards and a mooring suitable for boats up to six metres. Back inside, two opulent bedrooms – one with an en-suite – are joined by a family bathroom on the lower floor.

The traditional Cornish village of Polruan is a charming maze of winding streets and steep steps, dotted with pubs, cafes, and a local shop. The village sits on the South West Coast Path, making it a perfect base for scenic walks, perhaps to the twinkling turquoise cove of Lantic Bay (2 miles). Just across the river lies Fowey (1 mile), a lively and popular Cornish holiday destination accessible via a regular ferry service.

We absolutely adored our stay. The location was amazing, every evening we'd have the bifolds open whilst we were on the sofa just so we could listen to the water. Also such a lovely short walk down to the cafe, shop and the ferry to get to Fowey. Will definitely stay again!

A perfect place to stay in Polruan. Very well planned to make the most of its position overlooking both Fowey and Polruan. The views of this busy harbour are amazing. It is very carefully planned and equipped to a very high standard. The ferry to Fowey is close by. Car parking was fine at the recommended car park.

A beautiful, clean, well equipped property with wonderful views. Whilst we knew that there were lots of uneven steps to the property it should be noted that the walk to the car park is up a very steep hill and a considerable distance away. The photos also showed it to be larger than it actually is - its very compact. I'm not sure I would want to reRead morelax on the sofa with 3 others. Having said that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and when we did need some information the owners sorted it out very promptly. The views alone are enough to make you want to return. Hide

Super location and super comfortable. Always something to watch on the water, even during our January stay. The 57 steps down to Water's Edge would not suit the more physically challenged, but we enjoyed the exercise. Our 3rd stay in different cottages in Polruan and the best. Thank you Nadia.

It was a delight to stay here. Compact, but perfectly formed. The views and access to the water are certainly worth the steps.

Excellent location right on the water with amazing views. The property was very clean and has everything we needed. The accommodation is stunning. Immaculate and spotlessly clean with all the facilities for a luxurious stay. And those views from the property are second to none! Absolutely stunning place. The house is split into 2 floors - the entrance leads you to a well equipped, brand new kitchen / living room with stunning views of the harbour and a terrace. Below are stairs to 2 bedrooms which were 1-2C colder so we slept well during hot summer even without any A/C. There is a clever skylight on the kitchen floor whicRead moreh gives ample sunlight downstairs too. WiFi is stable at ~ 50/10Mbps. Note that as with most of the cornwall the access roads are very narrow with hedges on both sides and passing places so be careful. Car park is at the top of the hill but you can bring your car down the road and unload your things (you still have to take the 67 steps; there is no way around that). It's quite an exercise but the the view is worth it. There is a ferry going every 15 min to Fowey and you can hire a boat (no experience needed) or kayak in various places and moor it to the private line (note that tide difference is quite big - up to 5 m) Hide

Waters edge. Absolutely stunning. Spotlessly clean. If you want me to find fault with something. The 67 steps mentioned for access, need to be in bold. Fabulous! We had a wonderful stay at Waters Edge in Polruan. The property was absolutely immaculate, and in the most amazing location with direct water access and is perfect for two. Everything is really high quality, and the kitchen is really well equipped. The views are gorgeous, and we loved chilling out on the terrace in the sunshine overlRead moreooking the estuary, and being able to get straight out on to the water with our paddle board and kayak. We had a lovely time exploring the inlets and popping across to Fowey. There are some clever design features to make the most of the space, including the bi-fold kitchen window that means you have a kitchen bar on the terrace - perfect for morning coffee, and evening G&Ts. We were a little nervous about needing to walk the last bit to the property, and lugging all our stuff (and water toys!) on foot but needn't have worried. You can drive down to the bottom of Battery Lane to West Street, unload all your stuff and then take your car back to the car park. It's not far to go with your stuff after that. Polruan itself is lovely, a couple of pubs, good village shop and bakery. There is a foot ferry that you can catch across to Fowey where there are loads of shops, cafes and restaurants but we loved being in the less touristy/less hectic village of Polruan. The owners were really accommodating and allowed us to have a late checkout which let us make the most of our break and to enjoy those stunning views for a bit longer. Hide
