An enchanting retreat in an AONB within scenic grounds near Altarnun, this delightful hideaway nestles on the edge of beautiful Bodmin Moor- famous for it's exceptional dark skies. Set in serene Cornish surroundings, made famous by the author Daphne du Maurier in her novel Jamaica Inn, it enjoys beautiful views beneath starry skies. Sleeping four guests, the private, two-bedroom, dog-friendly retreat sits in 2-acre grounds where the owners also live and guests may wish to sample their fresh eggs, vegetables and fruit. Stroll 0.5 miles to the village shop or to have afternoon tea or morning coffee. A renowned pub is just 1 mile away. Picture-postcard Bossiney Cove, where you can pick up the South West Coast Path, is a 12-mile drive, and magnificent Widemouth Bay, popular for swimming and surfing, is 12 miles from the cottage. For a year-round dog friendly beach with great amenities, Black Rock Beach is just 13 miles away. Visit fascinating Tintagel, where many of the legends of King Arthur are said to have taken place, also only 11 miles away.

Enter this attractive, single-storey cottage to find it offers a beautiful blend of the old and the new. Ancient granite and Blue Elvan stone walls still tell the tales of cattle and farming from a bygone era, while contemporary features, such as excellent insulation, double-glazing and heating, ensure high levels of modern-day comfort. Admire the owner’s artwork that has been inspired by the magical surroundings and now hangs on the walls. Find everything you need here to ensure an idyllic Cornish stay. At the heart of the cottage is a light-filled, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can unwind on the soft seating as you gaze out over the woodland, play a handmade game with the children or watch the Smart TV. Prepare fresh eggs from your welcome pack with vegetables and fruit grown on the site over in the well-equipped kitchen area. Dine together at the table and linger here over a bottle of wine or cup of fresh coffee from the machine. When you are ready to turn in for the night, amble off down the corridor to enjoy a refreshing shower in the family shower room and then a great night’s sleep. The double bedroom features an award-winning Nectar divan bed, with drawers, while the bunk bedroom encompasses a sturdy triple sleeper, with a double bed and drawers below and single above. Sumptuous, high-quality towels and bed linen are provided for guests sleeping in both rooms.

Spill out into the enclosed garden to savour the tranquillity and cook out on the BBQ under the stars. Play games with your canine companions out here too. Give them a good rinse under the outdoor hot and cold shower after muddy walks through the surrounding National Landscape or afternoons on golden, sandy beaches. There is private parking here for two cars.
