Property code: OC-PC027

A pretty romantic bolthole where you can escape as a couple to explore the pretty, peaceful fishing village of Polruan. The property itself is tucked away and located just a few steps from Back Beach. It's an ideal cottage from which to explore the south coast of Cornwall, with its stunning beaches and beautiful coastline. Take a deep breath and relax.

Inside the property, there's absolutely no mistaking you're in Cornwall. With its blue hues and definite nautical and seaside influence, the owners have brought the outdoors indoors. After a day of exploring, you can cosy up in front of the wood burner and share memories of the day. Upstairs, you'll find a second lounge with estuary views and a double bedroom. Please be aware, this is very much a Cornish cottage and so expect low ceilings in the kitchen and some steep cottage-style stairs. The lack of outdoor space is also more than made up for with the property's proximity to the beach and Quay.

Once you've strolled through the quaint streets of Polruan with its shop, pub and cafe, you'll probably want to explore further afield. If you enjoy bobbing on the water, less than half a mile away catch the ferry to Fowey, browse its independent shops and grab a bite from one of the local pubs. Take a drive 16 miles to the awe-inspiring Eden Project with its fascinating bio-domes or transport yourself back in time 18 miles away at Charlestown, with its tall ships.

  • 1 bedroom – double
  • 1 bathroom - bath and electric shower
  • Electric oven and hob,  microwave, Delonghi coffee machine, fridge with freezer compartment, washer-dryer, and dishwasher.
  • Wood burner on ground floor - First basket of logs included during winter months
  • Night storage and electric panel heating included
  • Parking available in nearby car parks, charges apply
  • Beach, pub and shop within walking distance
  • TV in first floor lounge
  • Please note that the kitchen area has low ceilings, which reduces head height in this area only
  • There are steep cottage style stairs up to the second and third floor.
  • Due to the steeps stairs the property is not suitable for infants or children or people with limited mobility.
  • Polruan is a quaint little village situated on a very steep hill, so access to some parts of the village can be challenging.
  • Many of the amenities, ferries and cottages in Polruan are accessed via steps/ slopes some of which can be steep. Please contact us if you have specific requirements.
  • There are many small winding streets in and around Polruan that are not suitable for cars, therefore many properties in Polruan do not have private parking. However, there is a large pay and display carpark at the top of the village. A small amount of parking can be found on the village quay.
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 2 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

Would definitely stay at Fairlight Cottage again. Clean, well equipped, plenty of information from owner at the cottage and prior to arrival.

A Beautiful cottage in a perfect spot, to go to sleep listening to the sea was idyllic and if a little chilly in the evening to be able to snuggle up in front of the wood burner, just perfect. The view is stunning and so relaxing .

Great views over the estuary from the living room and bedroom. Tracy, the housekeeper and Ellie at the Winkle Picker very kindly posted my suitcase which I stupidly left behind.
