My recent stay at Harbour View was not my first. If you are looking for a modern, state of the art kitchen and lots of modern devices, then this is perhaps not the place for you. But the house is steeped in history and lovely old furniture and paintings. It has a magic of its own and perfect if you enjoy reading after a bracing walk or hours of Read moreexploring beautiful shops in Fowey - including a wonderful vintage shop with a wide range of exceptional Edwardian and Victorian clothes and authentic French lights. A little gem. If it rains, a gentle, unhurried visit to Shrew Books (Fowey) and if you desire a fabulous lunch, make your way to North Street Kitchen (also in Fowey). Fresh lobster whilst looking over at Daphne du Maurier's house. Out of this world and very much worth the wait! I don't think this is my last visit to a very special place. Hide

A beautiful cottage with the history, walked pasted it several times in the past and had the opportunity to stay last week. The heart of Polruan, looking over the harbour and boat yard. This is an amazing property and location and I would recommend staying here to anyone. Historic and cosy, really well equipped kitchen including a washing machine and tumble dryer. Very comfortable beds and sofa, plenty of lamps and extension leads throughout the property which was also helpful. Great views of the harbour and lots of character. A trek uphill to the car park, so be prepared! Fowey very close on the passenger ferry and great proximity to the local pubs.

The courtyard garden needs to be made more attractive. This could be a real asset, but needs serious attention. We were disappointed at the lack of cleanliness. The toilet seat and cover was dirty when we arrived and the majority of windows were covered with cobwebs and a fine black dust. We even found dog toys and balls from previous visitors? TheRead morere was no bread board and/or chopping board and all kitchen utensils were extremely dated. Not one single tea towel was provided. Hide
