The cottage, one of four similar holiday homes on a country estate, exudes character, with original beams and whitewashed walls. Filled with light, it is charmingly furnished in a contemporary style. Upstairs, the open-plan living area has country views, with comfortable seating, a well-planned kitchen and a wooden dining table. A twin bedroom is also on this floor. Downstairs are a family bathroom and two further bedrooms: a super-king-size with an en-suite and a double. Outside, the garden has a patio with outdoor furniture a BBQ, a children’s play area and access to a shared games room. There’s a fenced orchard and a path leads down to the river. There is private parking for three cars.
The remote landscape of Bodmin Moor offers a wealth of ancient stones and circles for keen walkers to explore, including the remarkable Nine Stones Circle at Alturnan (4 miles). Take a pony trek across the moorland or a peaceful bike ride along the quiet lanes close to your cottage. Keen golfers can practice their swing at Trethorne and Launceston Golf Clubs (both within 7 miles). Children will enjoy a ride on the vintage Launceston Steam Railway, and the excellent Pop-Up Museum in the town offers appeal for all ages. Head to the North Coast and the glorious beach at Trebarwith Strand (16 miles).
