This is a lovely homely house. Quirky and comfortable with amazing sea views from the kitchen, lounge and main bedroom. Plenty of space for a family. The small outside seating area also has stunning views. Porthminster beach is less than 5 minutes walk away- it is however a steep climb! There is a less steep, more gradual route around the road backRead more from town. The views do compensate for the climb. Having a parking space is great for St Ives. However it is tight and reversing out and up the hill to the main road is tricky. It is sometimes possible to drive further down the terrace and then do a three point turn. Visitors alsoneed to be aware that neighbours access their entrance by walking past the kitchen door and window. Hide

Excellent cottage a few mins from the beach and 15 mins from St Ives. Would like to go back, and we might. Can't say better than that

Road traffic is noisy. Headroom is limited on part of the stairs. Parking space is tight for larger cars. Comfy spacious cottage, well equipped, great location and stunning views.

I would highly recommend compass cottage. The views from each floor were superb and great location, as only a few mins walk to Porthminster beach, so our dog loved it! Also great bonus of a parking space and each room in the property was spacious.

Headroom on the lower flight of stairs pretty restricted but otherwise the cottage is excellent. Wonderful views.

Great holiday cottage with a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach with everything you need. Portminster has beautiful sand and very safe swimming. 12 minute walk into St Ives and 20 min hilly walk to Carbis bay which is stunning. The cottage is near a busy road but you get used to the noise and it calms down at night. We didnt need the car forRead more the whole holiday so we relaxed and enjoyed the absolutely stunning views from the lounge and bedroom. Hide

What an amazing place with amazing views across the bay! The best beach in all of St Ives and the entire area is just a few minutes walk out the back door. There are cafs, a bar, restaurants and toilets on a large flat sandy beach. Less than ten minutes walk along the promenade and you are in the town centre and beautiful harbour. It is the perfRead moreect balance of a quiet area for the property and beach then a short walk and your in the bustling town of St Ives and the other three beaches. There is parking and a garden then up a few steps and youre into the kitchen, dining room and lounge area plus a downstairs toilet. The first floor there is a large lounge area with the best views youve ever seen. On the second floor there is a good size bedroom, a good size kids bedroom suitable for three kids and then a family bathroom. Two mins drive up the road there is a large Tesco or ten minutes walk the other there is a CO OP. We found a lot of places child and dog friendly which suited us very well. The town itself is very welcoming and we felt very safe walking about in the day and evening. Join the St Ives pages on social media, they have so much local knowledge that really helped us find places. We would definitely stay here again. Hide
