From its elevated yet sheltered position above Whitesands Bay, this lovely cottage enjoys uninterrupted views over the wide surfing beach towards Sennen Cove, Longships lighthouse and the Scilly Isles. It sleeps four people in two light and stylish double bedrooms, each having a south-westerly aspect overlooking the terrace and garden. An ideal base for families and walkers, it offers tranquility and direct access to the beach and the South West Coast Path. Close by is Gwynver beach, where dogs are welcome all year round. Sennen Cove, with its traditional pub, surf school, lifeboat station and fishing harbour, is only half a mile away by foot, and keen walkers can hike along the beautiful rugged cliffs to Cape Cornwall, Land’s End and Porthcurno, home of the open-air Minack Theatre. There are regular bus services to enable walkers to return to Sennen. Good local shops and cafes are nearby in Sennen and St Just, and supermarkets, galleries, and restaurants in Penzance, Newlyn and St Ives, within a half hour drive.
There is private parking for 2 cars. The cottage is hidden from the road, and is reached down a flight of steps through the landscaped garden. The hallway has hanging space, and leads to a well-equipped kitchen and steps down into the open-plan living area. The main king-size bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has zip-linked beds which can be configured either as two singles, or a super-king-size. Close by there is a spacious family bathroom with free-standing bath and separate shower.
The sitting room is set below the kitchen and dining area. A glass door leads to the terraced garden which surrounds the property, with its sunny outlook and sunset views. Outdoor dining furniture, extra chairs and a barbeque are available. There is a private path to the beach, accessed directly from the terrace, and an external shower together with hooks for wetsuits. Dogs are welcome according to our usual policy.
