This spacious stone cottage is perfect for a family or group of friends who want to explore one of South Cornwall’s loveliest corners. The property sleeps five guests, and you can walk for miles along the magnificent South West Coast Path from the doorstep. Polruan has two traditional pubs, a shop and cafe, while Fowey’s bustling, narrow streets offer independent shops, seafood restaurants and galleries. Discover the town’s fascinating history at the waterfront museum, take a boat ride from the harbour, or hire a canoe to explore the Fowey River’s atmospheric creeks. The town is famous for its association with the writer Daphne du Maurier, and you can see some of the places portrayed in her novels on the beautiful Gribbin Head coastal walk (4.5 miles). You’ll find sandy beaches at Polkerris and Par, both within 4 miles, and enjoy a day out at Lanhydrock (9 miles), a splendid National Trust country house set in beautiful grounds.
Head up the cottage stairs to a landing and the light and airy living area, with lovely scenic views across the waters and Polruan’s working boatyard. The bright and spacious lounge features comfortable seating, with an ornamental fireplace, and Smart TV. There’s a cosy dining area and doors leading out onto a large terrace. If you’ve shopped for fresh local produce, the large, L-shaped kitchen has everything you might need to get cooking. The single bedroom and a separate WC are also on this level. On the next floor, guests can enjoy a sound night’s sleep in two beautifully light and spacious king-size bedrooms. Both have wonderful sea views and en-suites, one with a shower over the bath and the other with a shower.
Outside, the terrace houses a dining table with an awning and outlook of flowers and shrubs, ideal for relaxed drinks or meals in the sun as you plan tomorrow’s adventures. There is no parking at the property, but there is a public pay and display car park 650 metres away, subject to availability
