This fabulous property is located in the heart of the Cornish harbour town of Porthleven, a fishing village with huge character and renowned as a foodie destination. Wonderful walks surround the area, and the cottage itself is light, bright and stylish, designed for comfort and relaxation – a great choice for couples or small families.
Set over a single storey and with high, vaulted ceilings, the lodge has a refreshing coastal vibe. Step inside and take in the gorgeous, open-plan living space, with a beautiful kitchen at one end. The chef of the holiday will find this sleek space equipped with all mod cons. Dine at the table for four and then recline on the large corner sofa, throwing open the patio doors for fresh air, and perhaps streaming a favourite show on the Smart TV. In winter you’ll have lovely warmth from the underfloor heating. The bedrooms have been designed with the same level of comfort in mind, and feature remote controlled blackout blinds on their skylights. The terraced courtyard is the perfect little spot for enjoying the sunshine, perhaps with a meal or a glass of wine, and has delightful views from its upper level. There is private parking for one car on the driveway.
Explore Porthleven’s array of galleries and shops, as well as its superb eateries, which range from seafood restaurants to pub grub and takeaways. From the village you can walk on the coast path, past the beach (800 metres) to the 1,500-acre Penrose Estate, consisting of wooded countryside around Cornwall’s largest natural lake. For a day at the beach, Praa Sands is just 6 miles away, while keen gardeners will want to look round Trebah and Trengwainton, both within 14 miles.
