Property code: OC-PC718A

Close to the coast path and with breathtaking ocean views, this contemporary four-bedroomed property offers a superior setting for a Cornish escape with family or friends. Two lounge areas mean there’s room for everyone to spend time exactly as they want, and there’s a garden plus private parking too.

A reverse-level layout makes the most of the position of this stylish property, while high-end features include oak flooring, underfloor heating, skilfully-positioned skylights and fully glazed doors for splendid views all day long. Step inside and on the ground floor there’s a lovely lounge with two sofas, a stone fireplace with a wood burner, and dual-aspect bi-fold doors onto the patio. For ultra-convenience, there’s a handy cloakroom, plus a splendid family bathroom with a free-standing roll-top bath as well as a separate shower. Choose from three ground-floor bedrooms: one has a king-size bed and en-suite shower room, and the other two have twin beds. A striking wooden staircase leads to the first floor, where an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room has all the home-from-home essentials and then some… stretch out on the sofa with a fresh cup of Nespresso coffee, share chef duties in the vast kitchen area and gather for good food and conversation at the dining table – however you spend your time here, you’ll have great views of the surrounding countryside. There’s also a stunning super-king-size bedroom on this level – enjoy a before-bed soak in the roll-top bath in your en-suite, and open the curtains for far-reaching ocean views the next morning. Patios accessed from each floor give you a choice of outdoor seating areas, while a lawn wraps around the property for additional play space. Fire up the BBQ for dinner; the outdoor shower is handy for washing the sand off toes.

Porthtowan has a golden sandy beach backed by large dunes and dramatic cliffs; the South West Coast Path skirts over the cliffs to St Agnes and Portreath (both 4 miles), delivering spectacular views for walkers. The village is at the heart of Cornwall’s Heritage Mining Area and mid-way between St Ives (19 miles) and Newquay(16 miles), making it a convenient base for further adventures.

We had a wonderful stay and were incredibly sad to leave. The location is stunning, the property is beautiful and well equipped. Even when we had a bit of rain, it was still fantastic to watch the changing coastline. The sunsets were mesmerising, walks were fab. The chip shop in the village was the best we have had - and it was gluten free! The beaRead morech was well worth the prickly start to the walk, but we discovered a path from Avenue 3 which was an easier walk! Hide

An absolutely fabulous property with amazing views. Well equipped, very comfortable beds and sofas, plenty of comfy and eating areas, lovely to have a few essential provided eg dishwasher tabs, washing machine tabs, washing up liquid, loo roll, bin bags, tea and coffee etc. There is a super walk down to the beach (and a rather more strenuous walk bRead moreack up!) where there is a cafe and shop and toilets. We can strongly recommend this for a larger group, family or friends. Tips - bring a sleep mask if you are in the top room as the velux doesn't have a blind. Check the garage - there is equipment there eg wind breaks that we only found after we bought our own - silly us! We can't wait to return. Hide

Absolutely gorgeous house. Location brilliant. Feels extremely remote yet 20 minutes drive to Truro. Breathe taking views of the coastline down to St. Ives. Two - very comfortable and airy sitting areas. All that you require to feel at home in a perfect sea views to die for location. Will definitely be back.

Hello, first: I definitely recommend this house. Our stay was wonderful despite bad weather. The beds, linens, mattresses are excellent. The bathrooms and towels are excellent. The cleanliness was very good. It was pleasantly warm, the showers were excellent and the water was hot. Yes, some of the dishes are damaged, but there are tons of them. ThRead moreere are also more than sufficient numbers of beautiful glasses, cutlery and appliances. The appliances, the stove are excellent. Everything is well organized, there is a drawer with tools, there are even a few light medications for emergencies. Everything neatly sorted. The stylish plexiglass chairs look great, but should be handled with care, one already had a crack that we sorted out in advance. Nevertheless, the backrest of one chair broke off!! Thank God nothing happened to us. The beautiful couch upstairs actually needs to be cleaned, it smells really unpleasant. The wooden chairs on the terrace are partly rotten, you can put one of the numerous blankets over them. Parking and the driveway onto the property are unproblematic (VW Passat, Touran). The path down to the beach can only be used by experienced hikers. Hide
