A former fisherman’s cottage, brimming with character and set in the heart of historic Mousehole, this property offers a lovely base for a holiday in a beautiful part of West Cornwall. The stone cottage is ideal for a family or couples sharing, along with two canine companions, and you are within 350 metres of the sandy harbour beach, village shops and pubs. Lively Penzance (4 miles) has a great range of shops and eateries, while glorious beaches in Marazion, Porthcurno and picturesque St Ives are all within 10 miles. The South West Coast Path runs through Mousehole, offering miles of glorious coastal walks in both directions.
Original beams and areas of exposed stone are a reminder of this cosy cottage’s history. The welcoming lounge has comfortable seating around the wood burner, set in a granite fireplace, while the spacious kitchen/diner has all you need to get cooking. Upstairs, you’ll find a stylish shower room and two inviting bedrooms: a double and a twin, both with charming interiors. While the cottage has no outside space, you are moments away from the sea and wonderful views across Mount’s Bay.
Take a luxurious dip in the Jubilee Pool on Penzance Promenade (3 miles), a beautiful Art Deco lido with geothermal heating, and enjoy a drink and snack in the pool cafe. Then head for pretty Marazion (6 miles) and historic St Michael’s Mount, where you can walk across the causeway to the castle or take the ferry, depending on the tide. Visit the Tate St Ives gallery (10.5 miles), and the town’s three golden beaches, with spectacular Porthmeor a favourite for surfers. The village of Porthcurno (8 miles) is another must-see, home to the famous cliff-top Minack theatre and the fascinating Museum of Global Communications.
