A spectacular sea view from every window, original beams and an open log fire: this lovely Cornish cottage, just 1 mile from the beach at Crackington Haven, has them all. The stone-built property sleeps four guests and is full of charm, with a welcoming interior that blends comfort and country style. This idyllic retreat is perfect for a family or group of friends planning to explore the glorious North Cornwall coast. A shop and pub are within 2 miles, and splendid cliff-top walks are close by.

Windows and glass doors in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner create a wonderfully light and airy space beneath white-painted beams. Relax on cosy sofas in front of the granite fireplace and gather around the pretty dining table for meals prepared in the neat kitchen. Upstairs are three delightful bedrooms: a king-size on the first floor, along with a family bathroom, and a twin on the top floor. Outside, the pretty, enclosed garden has seating and a BBQ. The cottage has a shared laundry room and can be booked alongside two neighbouring properties to sleep a total of 13 guests.

The family-friendly beach at sheltered Crackington Haven is a popular choice for surfing and swimming, with rock pools to explore at low tide. Fuel up at the bistro cafe before an exhilarating hike along the cliffs. Bude (10 miles) is famed for its golden beaches and Atlantic rollers, with calmer waters in the part-natural sea pool. Historic Bude Canal is a great place to practice your paddling skills in a canoe or kayak. Explore legendary Tintagel Castle, set on a rugged headland and visit unspoiled Boscastle (7 miles) to see the harbour and beautiful Valency Valley.

This is the third time we have stayed in this wonderful old school house, Francis. The sea, the fantastic coast paths and acceptable British weather made it feel like home!

We really enjoyed our stay at Francis Cottage. The view of the coast was amazing, and you could walk from the cottage right out onto the cliffs. Crackington Haven bay itself was also lovely and had a pub and a couple of cafes to relax in. The cottage was very well presented and had everything we needed. We would definitely consider going back.

Perfect cottage for a quiet week away on the beautiful Cornish coast with sea views from the breakfast table. Coastal walks direct from the cottage and close enough to places like Boscastle, Tintagel and Bude for evenings out. Cottage was clean, well equipped, with adequate parking and very friendly and helpful owners.
