This charming cottage in a rural spot just outside Lifton is perfect for couples looking for an idyllic haven for an active holiday right on the border of Devon and Cornwall. Surrounded by wonderful countryside, within two miles are a farm shop, Dingles Fairground Heritage Centre and at Lifton, access to the Tamara Coast to Coast Way. Launceston (6.5 miles) is a lovely town renowned for its independent shops and cafes and, for history buffs, the chance to visit the castle ruins, which date back to Norman times.

Stepping into this cosy yet stylishly furnished two-storey home, you will soon notice the beautiful blend of original and contemporary features, including exposed wooden beams throughout. The bold colours in the decor and furnishings bring a vibrancy to the interior. Enter through the porch and continue into the living space, where there is comfortable seating to relax in front of the wood burner electric-effect fire and enjoy watching your favourite films on the Smart TV. A step down takes you into the kitchen, which has all you need to rustle up a romantic dinner or a delicious picnic lunch. There is also a downstairs shower room available. There are steep stairs to climb, and once upstairs, you’ll find lower ceilings reflecting the cottage’s original design before arriving up and into the double bedroom. Outside is a spacious formal ornamental rose garden to enjoy. You can fire up the BBQ to dine alfresco or relax with your favourite drink on fine evenings.

This property is in a superb location and allows easy access to explore the stunning scenery on Bodmin Moor (18.5 miles), the Tamar Valley (14.5 miles), and Dartmoor National Park (11 miles), where there is a choice of walking, hiking, cycling and mountain biking opportunities.
