I am in my eighties and have enjoyed seventy years of English Summer Holidays and this accommodation is right up near the top. This house would be the ideal retirement home. Not suitable for any person who likes to pop into a shop or local entertainment but for nature lovers it is hard to beat, I cannot speak for winters of course as our stay were Read morethe hottest days of the year with a red heatwave warning. The garden was therefore unbeatable and the house lovely to cool down. In another column I have written the following: Perfect just as it is. One hundred per cent attention to detail. Spotlessly clean. Everything provided and all of it was good quality and in excellent wprking order. I could not think of one criticism. There were four of us and a dog and the holiday will always be remembered by all as a great place to stay. Anyone who appreciates country living would truly love this as a home.Ten out of ten. I wish I could live there especially in retirement.. The elderly owner lived next door and she was amazingly attentive, helpful, polite and a real lady. Her gardening skills second to none. She baked us a lemon cake which would have won a prize at any Country Fair.. The Guest Book is full of praise with many returning for further stays. If you have a dog who loves a garden go there. Thanks Diana from a nineteen forties veteran plus daughters 26 years and 24 and son 21.I wish I could have taken my bed home, my wife asked me to check the make so we could buy one. Hide

A very well equipped home in a stunning, peaceful environment, that proved a great base to explore both North and South Cornwall. The house was spacious and we had breakfast outdoors sat in the garden admiring the view. There are lots of local walks to exercise the dog - the one to Rilla and the pub was the perfect length. We visited Tintagel, LanhRead moreydrock, Looe (crabbing), Polperro, the Hurlers, Bodmin Jail to name just a few. The property was incredibly well equipped - from crabbing nets, board games and outdoor games, to a well-stocked kitchen (with a wide range of crockery, utensils, pans, graters), to large spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage, this was the perfect home away from home. Diana was a welcoming host and could not have been more helpful. Highly recommended. Hide

We had a wonderful holiday at North Coombe Farm. John & Diana are welcoming & helpful but not intrusive. The house is clean, comfortable & very well equipped. We appreciated the care that has gone into all the little extras & decorative touches. The garden is beautiful, I could have spent the whole week sitting on the terrace watching the many birdRead more species which visited the bird tables. However the location is good for getting to both the North and South coasts & many other places of interest. I only marked it down because of the very narrow lanes for access, but that's Cornwall for you. We would heartily recommend this holiday home. Hide
