Get the best of both worlds in Cornwall when staying in this quiet village property that’s just a short distance from the lively surfer’s hub of Newquay. The cottage is situated in peaceful Fraddon, just 7 miles away from the town via car or accessible via a 20-minute train journey from St Columb Road train station, less than half a mile away. There are, of course, more appealing attractions in the immediate area, including the Goss Moor National Nature Reserve (4.5 miles) and some local family-friendly days out. The accommodation itself also ticks that family-friendly box, inviting up to six guests to stay in three charming bedrooms.

There’s a real homely feel in this single-storey property, with its calming colour scheme and lovingly thought-out decorations. The spacious lounge invites all to spend time together, complete with a wood burner and a Smart TV for creating the snuggest atmosphere in cooler months. From here, step through into the kitchen/diner, a spacious area for preparing delicious dinners. All three bedrooms, two double rooms and a bunk bedroom can be found along the hallway, accompanied by a family bathroom and one separate WC. Patio doors from the kitchen lead out into the property’s final offering, a fully enclosed, tiered patio space with an inflatable hot tub to sink into after a long day of shredding waves or hiking the area.

Keep children entertained with trips to Screech Owl Sanctuary (3 miles), Springfield Fun Park (2 miles) or Lappa Valley nearby (5.5 miles). Guests of all ages and interests are sure to find something appealing in Newquay, a town with multiple sandy beaches, a vibrant surf culture and both a zoo and an aquarium. The town’s main beach, Fistral Beach (8 miles), also hosts an annual surf and music festival that older kids won’t want to miss.
