On balmy evenings, catch up with your closest friends on the sun terrace, with fabulous views overlooking the town. Soak those aching muscles in a steaming bubble bath on the top floor then climb into one of the four delightful beds arranged across two floors. This property is in a great location near the facilities and wonderful views (less the fact it is very difficult to access due to the narrow road, for very small cars only, and a steep hill which was a problem for the older members of my family, which really should be strongly mentioned more in the general description), it could be a really outstanRead moreding property with more care and maintenance. Unfortunately the basic expectations and high standards of a 5 star property as per the Original Cottages Website are not met. This is a 8 bed space property, with only 7 chairs for dining, some of the furniture is broken or in decline, there are lots of chips, marks and stains on the walls, making the place look tired. The toilet seat & bin are in a poor state and the handle to the toilet door falls off in use (middle toilet). We were horrified that there are no mattress protectors on the beds and there are disgusting stains on the mattresses and there were hairs on the some of mattresses and sheets. There was a large amount of dust and hair under the beds/furniture. Its such a shame as its a lovely property, just lacking the basics, for example there is no where to hang coats, only an old coat rail with only 2 pegs left for 8 people? On arrival the dish washer was full of dirty dishes, the right hand oven had burnt food all over it and stunk of fish (we could not use it all week, it was that bad). The light blue chair in the front room is of very poor quality, try sitting in it for a period of time! A really serious note is the Health and Safety Hazzard of the sunken entrance and metal strip which would stick up at the front hallway right outside the living room, this caused numerous members of my family (both young and old) to fall/trip, luckily there were no serious injuries, but this needs to be addressed now. From the photos, I had high expectations, this was a family holiday I had planned for a long time to treat them to a lovely location and property, it is not cheap, but some aspects of it felt cheap, but we made do and tried to not let it spoil our holiday, Looe and the surrounding area is a fantastic place! DON'T DRIVE TO THE HOUSE - THE ROAD IS TOO NARROW! Although the information stated that the road was narrow, it isn't clear that it won't be suitable for most vehicles. We have a mid-sized car (Ford C-Max) and had 1/2 inch clearance on each side at times and the hills were very steep with sharp bends. It was incredibly challenging and we were luckyRead more to escape with a small scratch on the car - we saw other cars on the road sustain much worse! There is a local man (Pete - Looe Luggage Transfer) who will take luggage up and down to the house in his quad bike and trailer at a very reasonable rate (8). Definitely recommended (on Facebook and 07810644449). Aside from the road, we were incredibly lucky with the weather we had. The house itself was nice - amazing views and the balcony on the front gets the sun all afternoon and evening. Everything was comfortable and clean, although there were a few issues with the bathroom on the top floor. The living space is much smaller than it appears in the photos - we struggled to seat seven of us around the table in the kitchen and had to use the breakfast bar as overflow seating. The hills to walk up and down between the town and the property were very steep so be prepared for quite a hard walk up. Hide

Very comfy beds and well equipped. Looe has lost to offer from good restaurants, pubs and lovely independent shops all dog friendly. lovely coastal path walk to Polperro where you can catch the bus back. There is a train station in Looe as well so no need to use the car during your stay

The property itself is very nice. Comfortable, clean and well appointed. The views are also stunning. The difficulty is getting any large amounts of luggage to the property. There is a service offered by a local man, Pete, who for a small fee will meet you at the main car park with his quad bike and trailer and take your luggage to the property. ThRead moreis service should be advertised and promoted on the website/confirmation email. To say that the road to the property is difficult is an understatement. If your car is larger than a small car or rear wheel drive you simply wont make the incline, irrespective of your driving confidence. Hide

Fantastic house, extremely clean and spacious. Fabulous view. The hill is a little tricky but make you feel like you earn your drink once gazing out from the terrace.
