Elevate your holiday experience with a stay at this fabulous two-bedroom property on the East Looe hillside. With panoramic views, a pair of sitting rooms, plenty of outdoor space and parking, it’s perfect for two couples or a group of pals.

Enjoy far-reaching views of the town and its bustling harbour from this detached house – set into a hill beside the original roadway into Looe, it’s ideally located for a laid-back break with friends or family. Prepare to be impressed as you step into the living room, where the huge window gives a bird’s eye view of the harbour; there’s access to a raised balcony, as well as all the comforts of home for restful nights in. Incredibly light and airy, the open-plan kitchen/diner offers more fabulous views plus all the self-catering essentials. Sharing the ground-floor layout is a king-sized bedroom with its own TV and a bathroom with, for added convenience, both a bath and a separate shower. On the lower ground floor there’s a second ‘snug’ sitting room with garden access, plus a bedroom with a TV and zip-and-link beds that can be made up either as twins or a super-king-size bed. Sleep here and you can wake up to harbour views! Step onto the balcony for dinner al fresco – there’s furniture for four and a charcoal BBQ. The patio to the rear of the property provides an alternative breath of fresh air; backed by mature garden it’s a lovely private area and has its own furniture.

If you like walking, you’ll love this property – the hill it’s located on is steep and narrow in places, so the parking spaces here are a huge bonus: unpack then forget about the car until home-time! Check your fitness-tracker and you’ll see there are 23 steps down from car to the front door; when you’re ready to explore, East Looe’s holiday hot spots are around 200 metres downhill. The town is famous for its banjo-shaped harbour wall and lanes lined with cafes, pubs and restaurants. The South West Coast Path passes through town; for wider exploration take a train ride to Liskeard on the scenic Looe Valley Line.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 twin (zip-and-link beds that can be configured as a super-king upon request)
  • 1 bathroom with a bath, walk-in rainfall shower and a WC
  • Induction hob, electric fan oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer
  • Travel cot, highchair and stairgate provided on request when booking
  • Smart TV in lounge and both bedrooms
  • Please bring your own beach towels
  • Balcony, outside dining furniture, panoramic views, charcoal BBQ, patio area to rear, mature garden
  • Private parking for 2 cars
  • Shop, pub, beach 0.1 miles
  • Note that the access road is steep and narrow in places and may be challenging for some drivers
  • Note there are 23 steps down from the parking area to reach the front door
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • Sorry, no dogs allowed

A very well equipped cottage with stunning views of the harbour. The only thing we found to be missing was a way to light the BBQ. A quick trip down the hill to grab some matches sorted that though. An extremely tight road to gain access to the property was fun - especially as it is a 2-way road. The parking area was a godsend and is large enouRead moregh to turn around before exiting. A beautiful seating area on the terrace overlooking the harbour. We were unlucky with the weather so we didn't use this. Hide

The view of Looe and the harbour from the house and balcony is quite spectacular. The house was very comfortable. The steep narrow road is doable but challenging and it is definitely best to always approach the house from the top of Barbican Hill. SatNav can be misleading. We recommend that you double check your routes with a large scale road map! Read more We enjoyed our stay in Looe and surrounding villages and coastal resorts. Hide

Very easy to relax. Great views. Easy to get a wonderful train journey and plenty of busses. We didnt need to use the car for 5days. Thats great as we have to use it every day to get out of our village. Really glad we stayed at Mizzen Cottage.

Delightful house easily accessible from town and shops. Great outside sitting area with lovely view of the river. Very well appointed. Ample parking space with the possibility to turn around making for easier exit onto narrow steeply sloping roadway.

A fabulous location in East Looe The cottage is situated in a stunning location overlooking the estuary and West Looe. A short walk into the town, albeit down and up a very steep hill. The driving on Barbican Hill and parking at the cottage is manageable, and shouldn't put visitors off! Mizzen is a lovely quirky house with exceptional views of Looe from every room. Kitchen is one of the best equipped kitchens we have seen. Lounge has a lovely cosy den feel to it. Nice to have its own drive. The road is tight but doable ( we got in ok with an Audi Q3 2013) Bedrooms simple but everything you need in a bedroom. Loved the room downsRead moretairs for quiet reading. Would have loved to make use of the the balcony with the very nice furniture and pretty lights but it was slightly cold and windy.
