Property code: OC-FLORA

For an unforgettable holiday with your best friends, take a trip to this converted barn on the Cornish coast. It’s the perfect spot for a couples’ getaway and you can enjoy the small community, rich history and incredible views.

The bungalow has a beautiful lounge/dining area with a wood burner to warm you through. It’s perfect for socialising, holding a games night or enjoying a bottle of wine with your fellow guests. There’s a kitchen with patio doors so you can soak up the fresh air and sunshine as you prepare breakfast. Move on to the two double bedrooms, both carefully decorated, airy and perfectly restful. Wash the salt and sand off with a relaxing soak in the deep bath and treasure the holiday feeling. This property enjoys a wraparound enclosed garden, so if you do bring Fido, he can take his time sniffing everything out. In one corner you’ll see a decking area with a table, so you can enjoy your morning coffee with a view over the beautiful countryside.

There are plenty of great places to explore, including the nearby pub (500 metres) which was built in the 17th century to allow smugglers to move their wares. There’s still the original secret tunnel which they used! You’re in the perfect spot for history and legends, and it’s easy to visit The Merry Maidens Stone Circle (6 miles), which is either the site where 19 women were transformed into stones for dancing on the Sabbath, or it’s a late stone age/early bronze age monument used to track phases of the moon. For nautical tales, try the Mayon Cliff shipwreck, 1 mile away. You can walk along the cliff to find Land’s End (1 mile), Sennen Cove (1 mile) and the Enys Dodnan Arch (1.5 miles), an unusual rock formation.

We had a lovely stay at this cottage but would say that the accommodation requires some updating. The cottage is surrounded by private homes but this did not cause an issue. The driveway to the property is very dangerous with large potholes which could cause damage to visitors and their vehicles. The cream tea was a nice touch.

Flora-Belle in first glance is a beautiful little place to relax and unwind. The area is outstanding, with sennen cove just a short walk, we were the fore Christmas this year and made our time there both relaxing and fun. Very cosy, spacious and comfortable cottage, in a perfect location for sennen beach. There is a lovely garden which our dog enjoyed and a field with public footpath to the pub just behind it. 1 minute walk from shop and the path that leads to sennen is opposite with a short 10 minute walk to the cove. Excellent location and perfect base to explore. Sennen cove is a short walk with lovely views. The open top bus going to Penzance and at Ives was great value for money with loads to see on the way. Would highly recommend Flora belle cottage to anyone looking to stay In Cornwall.

The cottage was FANTASTIC and the Cornish Horizons staff were really friendly and helpful every time we rang for additional information regarding accessibility for my 94-year-old mum. The ONLY downside was that there are NO grab rails in the showers or by the toilets, which meant she had to have assistance every time she needed the toilet, and she Read morecouldn't use the showers safely at all. PLEASE PLEASE could you fit grab rails to make this a genuinely accessible property? Otherwise it is perfect! Hide

The house as a whole was very clean although some of the radiators were extremely dustyI recognise that these can be tricky to keep dust free but a quick blast with the vacuum usually deals with any surface dust bunnies ?? I noted it in the book & hopefully it is now sorted. It seemed to be a good system whereby previous renters had noted a little problem & a tick was made where action had seemingly taken place. Lovely cottage in a great location with shop, post office and pub in short walking distance. Comfort and equipment, just a few niggles. Double bed mattress very soft. Other than a small towel heater there wasnt anywhere to hang damp towels (which are lovely and big and fluffy) and a small frying pan would be a handy addition.

We had a lovely, cosy, comfortable stay. Loved the large towels, location, so easy to get to beaches, grocery shop, cafes, pubs, fish and chip shop very near by. The South West coastal path is also very close. The garden needs a little work, an extra step to the patio area, a gate to separate the back garden from front and then it will be perfect.
