Property code: OC-OLDBAK

Once the village bakers, this charming cottage for couples or a small family has been lovingly converted into a stylish home away from home with a cosy living room featuring a crackling wood burner and a Moroccan-style courtyard garden for al fresco dining.

Step into this immaculately presented cottage and discover the bright and airy lounge/diner featuring a beamed ceiling, sash window, modern yet comfortable furnishings, and dining table and chairs. Relax in front of the wood burner or choose from the selection of board games provided. Descend the steps to the beautiful Shaker-style kitchen, complete with built-in appliances, a breakfast bar, and a Belfast sink. Open the bi-fold doors from the kitchen to discover a delightful, private courtyard with patterned paving, festoon lights, and a table and chairs perfect for soaking up the sun. Upstairs, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms with traditional-style column radiators and quaint window shutters. The bedrooms share a fabulous shower room that certainly has the “wow” factor.

Newlyn has a variety of attractions to keep you entertained during your stay, including the fish markets that sell fresh seafood straight from the boats, a charming boutique cinema, an assortment of art galleries and unique shops, as well as traditional pubs and excellent dining options. Take a stroll along the promenade towards the larger town of Penzance (1 mile). Here you can find more shops and restaurants, a small theatre, and even a vineyard located just half a mile outside the town centre. If you’re looking for adventure, visit St Michael’s Mount, which is only 4.5 miles away and accessible via a causeway at low tide or a boat at high tide. Lovely cottage in a superb location. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The beds were amazingly comfortable! The only small criticism would be it could have been a bit cleaner. However this did not put us off and will definitely be returning.

A nice cottage in a great location. When we stayed in May 2026, we were disappointed to find that the dcor had not been refreshed over the winter, leaving the property looking rather tired and neglected. The beds and linen were excellent, and the kitchen was very well equipped. Overall, however, the experience was disappointing.

Very well equipped and cosy cottage in great location. A lot of road noise but didn't spoil the stay.

The Old Bakery is a lovely warm and cosy cottage in Newlyn. Within easy walking distance to the shops, pubs and restaurants. We had a lovely week, out of season, and were impressed with the regular bus service, so we could explore the surrounding areas. The cottage is on a busy road and no parking, however we were able to pull up outside to dropRead more our luggage off and didnt have any problems parking in the local car parks. Newlyn is a great base from which to explore the Mounts Bay Area and beyond and the cottage is cosy and comfortable. Hide

We recently spent 4 nights at the Old Bakery. My daughter and I were very impressed with the cottage as it looks exactly like the photos which is not always the case. Others have mentioned traffic noise and whilst there is some it really did not take away anything from the enjoyment of the property and did not affect our ability to have a good niRead moreght's sleep at all - very comfy beds - Newlyn is a great base as it has good transport links to other parts of Cornwall. I loved this property and would happily stay again. Hide

We had a fantastic stay at the Old Bakery! So comfortable, beautifully decorated and furnished. Would definitely recommend! Up the road from our favourite cafe, Duke Street Cafe and our favourite ice cream, Jelberts! No parking however we parked easily in surrounding roads or at Duke St car park which is free from 4pm - 9am.

Great cottage particularly for just the two of us. Im not sure how well four adults would cope with one bathroom and no separate toilet but we managed just fine. Really good standard of fittings, equipment and cleanliness. The only negative for us was the proximity of what transpired to be quite a busy road for both vehicles and pedestrians and thiRead mores coupled with two jumpy dogs (our own) made for quite a lot of barking. we really liked the central location in Newlyn which lent itself to quick access for the seafront, pubs and restaurants and local shops. Although there is no parking provided and it is double yellow lines outside the property we managed to park within a couple of minutes walk on all but one of our nights. Hide

Nice comfy cottage - warm and cosy with sweet courtyard at the back. Cottage opens on to road - quite busy and noisy. Both bedrooms are at the front of the property so keeping a window open at night is a decision guests need to take.

Comfortable, well equiipped, and a great base for West Cornwall generally and Newlyn School of Art in particular. And for Newlyn, being able to park just down the road is a plus! Our second time at the Old Bakery, all good.

A beautiful modern well equipped cottage in the heart of Newlyn, within a few minutes walking distance of the centre of the fishing town. The cottage is beautifully well maintained & has everything you would need, as well as some additional welcoming items. The beds are so comfortable and quality items are throughout the cottage. There are somRead moree low ceilings walking into rooms downstairs so be prepared to duck if youre tall!! There is no parking at the cottage but we didnt find this an issue as we always managed to find a spot close by, but I could understand this wouldnt be suitable for everyone. The cottage is on a main road, we didnt find this an issue with traffic as we were out the majority of the day & there wasnt too much noise early / late in the day but not everyone will like this. We loved the cottage, the modern airy vibe was perfect for our needs and we would certainly return. Hide

Lovely bright kitchen and patio. Livingroom is quite dark, we had to get the lights on even on daytime.
