Set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this romantic retreat is the perfect base for couples who enjoy an outdoor lifestyle. You’ll be on the outskirts of Bodmin Moor, with endless tracks and trails to explore through the wild and remote landscape. Heading to the coast, discover the foodie delights of Padstow (17 miles) and the myths and legends of Tintagel Castle (12 miles).

A bridge across a tiny stream leads to the idyllic cottage. Once inside, you’ll find a characterful lounge, with a beamed ceiling, exposed stonework, and a cosy wood burner. This is the perfect place to snuggle up with a glass of wine after a long moorland walk. There’s also a pretty window seat for relaxing with your favourite book and a vinyl turntable with a selection of records. The country-cottage kitchen/diner is full of charm and has everything you need to create a delicious dinner for two. A bathroom with a small bathtub completes this floor. When it’s time for bed, climb the stairs to the inviting double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Outside, soak up the sunshine in the enclosed, leafy garden, which has furniture for outdoor dining and a firepit for toasting marshmallows under the stars.

As you’d expect, the walks in the area are exceptional. From the village of St Breward (0.5 miles), you can climb to the summit of Rough Tor, which is the second highest point in Cornwall. From here, the views are stunning and, on a clear day, you can see both the north and south coast. The historic town of Bodmin (9 miles) is well worth a visit during your stay. Take a tour of the 18th-century jail, visit Lanhydrock National Trust, or hire a bike and follow the Camel Trail to Padstow or Wadebridge.

Such a wonderful stay in a very beautiful place with many wonderful walks around. It's a shame I had such a short stay but I really do hope to be back again to truly enjoy everything the location has to offer. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome pack and found a better cottage to stay in as it felt so cosy and homely.

We absolutely adored our holiday at Riverside, however there were a couple of points we wanted to flag up. The pictures of the garden are slightly misleading, making it seem bigger than it actually is. The front garden was overgrown therefore unusable. We feel advertising it for 2 dogs rather than 3 would be better. A couple of items off the inveRead morentory were missing, i.e a microwave, and the vacuum wasnt quite working properly. With 3 dogs we like to make sure weve cleaned up as much a possible after our stays. These are just small dogs things, all in all our stay was wonderful. Hide

The cottage was absolutely perfect. The best equipped place I've ever hired, even down to having decent sharp kitchen knives! Lovely feel to the place, top quality bedding and very thoughtful welcome pack ?? Wonderful location, peaceful and quiet and within easy reach of some of the best places to visit in Cornwall. Can't wait to go back!!

We had a lovey week in Cornwall, & loved the cute & cosy cottage, perfect for the two of us & the dog! Very grateful for someone putting on & setting the heating, nice towels & bedding, although there was no mattress protector?! But very comfy bed with great en suite (although leak reported during stay which did not effect our holiday). Very comfyRead more sitting room & loved the grey fold out chair, great to relax on after a hard days walking! Brilliant welcome pack & 'food parcel', very kind & much appreciated extra! Cottage was well equipped with bits & bobs to help wash up, keep clean & tidy, just missing a vegetable peeler & maybe a toaster in the kitchen. Many thanks to owners, cleaners, & all the team, we had a lovely holiday. Hide
