In August the town holds its famous Fowey Royal Regatta. Fowey lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and there are plenty of natural attractions nearby to enjoy. Beach enthusiasts will love taking the Bodinnick car ferry to Lantic Bay (5 miles) and walkers can follow the South West Coast Path along the Fowey Estuary. Alternatively, head along the coast to the historic fishing of Charlestown (7 miles) and then onto the world-famous Lost Gardens of Heligan (14 miles).
