For a romantic getaway, there’s nowhere quite like Cornwall. The countryside is magnificent, the history is fascinating, and the legends are dramatic. This cottage is the perfect place for a couple’s getaway, with privacy, places to explore and much more.
As you enter the bungalow you’ll find a large conservatory with patio doors, a lovely spot to spend a sunny afternoon with your partner and a good book, enjoying the warmth and each other’s company. There’s a lounge/kitchen/diner, lit through generous windows which offer views of the surrounding natural splendour. Next, head through to the bright and beautifully decorated bedroom where you can get plenty of rest and plan your adventures. The garden is spacious and borders a field where you’ll find Shire horses, so enjoy your morning coffee in the seating area and watch them graze.
Ponsanooth is a lovely little village with a real sense of community. You’ll be able to go on plenty of walks from your doorstep and find forests, waterfalls, and pubs to enjoy. If you’d like to visit a slightly more populated area, try Falmouth, 5 miles away, where there’s lots of marine studies, a castle and places to eat, plus a beach. Horticulturalists will be sure to enjoy Enys Garden (2.5 miles), which is believed to be the oldest garden in Cornwall; the Lost Gardens of Heligan (18.5 miles) and, of course, the Eden Project (24 miles). Finish the holiday with a pair of binoculars and a walk along Lizard Point (19.5 miles) where you can see basking sharks, grey seals, porpoises, dolphins, whales, sunfish and Cornish choughs.
