This fabulous property, situated on a working farm just 6.5 miles from Bodmin, is the ideal cottage for families, couples or groups of friends that want a central base from which to explore the whole of Cornwall. Sleeping four across two large bedrooms, this holiday cottage is a tranquil bolthole to return to after spending the day on the road seeing the sights. Spend a beach day in charming fishing village Port Isaac (9 miles) or head down south to the incredible Lost Gardens of Heligan (25.5 miles) where a tropical paradise awaits.
The holiday home, which can be booked as a cottage for two at selected times of the year, is spacious and welcoming. Exposed stone walls and stunning slate floors in the living area make it a pleasure to unwind in after a long day out; warm up by the wood burner in the granite fireplace while you eat a tasty home-cooked meal at the dining table. Take a bath or shower in the amazing bathroom; bold tiles and sloping ceilings make it a relaxing but unique place to be. Outside there’s a BBQ in the enclosed garden perfect for the summer months – if you stay out there after sundown, you might hear the local owls!
Hire bikes from the nearby rental shop in Wenford Bridge (1.5 miles) and cycle down the Camel Trail that passes by the property at the end of the lane. If you’d prefer a coastal walk, head up to the National Trust’s Bagalow (12.5 miles) and take the South West Coast Path north to Tintagel or south to Trebarwith Beach (11.5 miles). If you’re with the kids, they’ll love a ride on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, or perhaps they’d prefer a ride on a tractor at Trevathan Farm (both 8 miles).
