Discover this welcoming and characterful cottage situated in a peaceful spot in the town of Fowey. Boasting a secret and private garden opposite the property that overlooks the river, this stylish home is the perfect bolthole for your family of four, or two couples.

Heading up a pedestrianised street, you will find this pretty cottage. Upon entering, you will find yourself in the spacious and open-plan ground-floor living space. To the left is the farmhouse-style kitchen with everything you need to rustle up delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners, that can be enjoyed together sat around the dining table. To the right of the front door is the quaint lounge area, with an exposed stone wall, a TV and plenty of comfortable seating. When you are ready for some shuteye after a busy day exploring, head upstairs and find a king-size bedroom, a double bedroom, and a shower room. There are two fabulous outdoor areas to enjoy here: a balcony with river views accessed via the kitchen with a table and chairs, and a fabulous secret garden situated across the lane and up 20 stone steps.

The colourful town of Fowey is set on the picturesque Cornish coastline and has lots of lovely independent shops and restaurants – these can be accessed on foot within 500 metres of the cottage. If you are a group that enjoys long walks, take the South West Coast Path that winds through the town and visit Lantic Bay, a stunning sandy cove off the beaten track (2.5 miles). Alternatively, hop in the car and head 8 miles to the bustling tourist town of St Austell.

Cosy cottage, well equipped kitchen, amazing location and a very special garden. Making the booking was very easy and the staff was exceptional. We had a lovely time, it was just the break we needed.

The cottage was very cosy. Full of charm and history. Kitchen area was lovely and well equipped. The spiral staircase takes a little getting used to. Bedrooms comfortable with plenty storage. The secret garden looks lovely and in the warmer months would be a fantastic place to sit, sun bathe and just relax. Wonderful cottage. Exceptionally clean. Well equipped and a joy to spend time in. The location just off the main street on a little path is quiet and right in the centre of Fowey. The garden is beautiful too. The owners are very lucky to own such a beautiful place! Thank you.

The Secret Garden of the cottage is what makes this place fantastic. Sitting on the highest level, looking out over Fowey during summer evenings was just lovely. The cottage was very clean, well equipped, beds were comfortable and the support service when the shower didn't work on the first day was super efficient.

The property was to a good standard. Shame the kitchen lights werent working so kitchen/dining space was dark. Wi-Fi router and tv could do with an update. When Ive stayed with a CornishHorizons property before there is normally coffee, milk and biscuits left and there wasnt which was missed.

The following comments are intended to be helpful and not are not major complaints. We enjoy are stay at Secret Garden every year. Perfect for a couple like us, perhaps two (but not for a family with small children). Even with windows left open and the extractor fan on while cooking, it's impossible to control the condensation - it was even on thRead moree back of the door. It was particularly cold when we stayed, and all other stone buildings in town had the same problem, but maybe a Vent-Axia-style fan would help. The duvet in the larger bedroom is looking old and thin. In the past, staying in October, it's been only just warm enough: this time we had to add the duvet from the other room. These are minor quibbles. We have enjoyed staying at the Secret Garden for the past five years. Its a lovely cottage with a delightful garden in a great location and very well equipped. The property is in an excellent location and extremely well maintained. The house was exceptionally clean on arrival and very comfortable. The bed linen was high quality and luxurious. Including teabags and milk, as well as cleaning materials and tea towels was very thoughtful. It was a great place to stay for our holiday.
