Property code: OC-P00877

With easy access to the harbour town of Porthleven, this dormer bungalow is set on the hillside and enjoys stunning sea views. Welcoming couples, friends and families, plus a canine companion, it’s a delightful, year-round retreat, with a garden for summer BBQs and a wood burner for cosy winter evenings.

Completely refurbished in 2021, this family-friendly house has a relaxed yet chic feel. The kitchen is a light, bright space that’s conveniently arranged with everything you’ll need for preparing delicious meals, and the lounge/diner has space for a dining table at one end, by enormous windows facing the sea. At the opposite end, soft seating surrounds a wood burner and a Smart TV. If you can’t get enough of the beautiful views, head to the sun room, where huge bay windows and a telescope will help you observe the sparkling waves. Two of the three bedrooms, a twin (super-king on request) and a single, are also on this floor, sharing a bathroom with a shower over the bath, while upstairs you’ll find the third bedroom, a king-size, with yet more stunning sea views, an en-suite shower room and a separate WC. Children and dogs will enjoy the enclosed lawn, while adults can relax around the picnic table and enjoy an alfresco drink or even a BBQ.

Elevated above the fishing village of Porthleven, the house is about half a mile from its harbour, shops, pubs, galleries and places to eat. An excellent selection of high-quality restaurants means you can try wood-fired pizza one night and freshly caught fish the next. From here there’s a variety of lovely walks, both inland and on the coast. Family friendly Praa Sands is just 5.5 miles away, while iconic St Michael’s Mount is 10 miles and St Ives only 17 miles.

Had a really fantastic week away at Tamarind. The property is stunning - it has beautiful sea views and is within a short walk of Porthleven. Extremely comfortable beds and amazing sofas - we particularly liked the charging ports in the side - it proved very popular with two teenagers. Very well supplied kitchen with a lovely welcome pack. Property was excellent and the benefit of off street parking was amazing! All furniture was excellent and property very well stocked. Upstairs shower not the most accessible for someone taller like me but did not significantly impact our stay.

A few things to help improve - Instructions on how to unlock the bin - it took us 4 days to realise there was a key! Upstairs is very low ceilings - I think beams should be painted or something - as my husband hit ihis head on them 4 days in a row when getting out of bed. More bin bags would be good. The entrance to the driveway was very hard for uRead mores to get our car in and out of - we have a large Q7 Audi - and the pillars as you enter the drive made it very hard to manouver - I would suggest removing one of them. The property had great views and an amazing garden. It was very spacious inside. It was close to the beach and pubs nearby which was a massive plus. However, the beds were not the most comfortable and the property does not really have a proper barbeque.

The property was exactly as described in your details, the only thing we were slightly disappointed by was its closeness to the two roads next to its garden but luckily they were not to busy during our stay. Its very well placed for walking into the centre of Porthleven. The welcome pack was also very good. A most enjoyable weeks holiday.

Nicely positioned property which has been thoughtfully decorated. Clean on the whole but toe nails under settee. Could be further improved with some more interesting plants in the garden

The house was really lovely - location, cleanliness and overall. Really liked the extra touch of a cream tea waiting for us (plus apple juice). Communication with Cornish Horizon was very good - information and instructions spot on.
