Boasting incredible river views from nearly every room, this cottage is the very definition of tranquillity. With shops, bars and restaurants only 350 metres away, it’s the perfect place to enjoy quality time with your family at the seaside.

Step inside this quaint property and instantly find yourselves immersed in the comfort of the home. Soft furnishings and ambient lighting present a calming spot to spend an afternoon or evening. Pop on the electric fire, sink into the pillowy sofas with a book in hand and admire the views out over the river. Gather your guests around the table for six and serve up a feast made in the well-equipped kitchen space. Chatter into the night with cool glasses of wine before retiring to one of three bedrooms. Choose from the king-size on the ground floor or a double bed or twin room on the top floor, all offering an unbeatable night’s sleep. Start your morning in the garden, where a mug of piping hot tea goes down nicely with the comings and goings of the boats sailing into Looe Harbour.

Tucked into the hillside, this property is a fantastic hideaway for keen walkers and beach babies. Head down to the centre of Looe, just 350 metres away, and pick up freshly caught fish for supper. Recharge the batteries with coffee and cake at one of the many cosy cafés and restaurants, before moseying around the independent boutiques and galleries. Spend days building sandcastles and rock pooling on Looe Beach (0.5 miles) or pick up the South West Coast Path and take the 5.5-mile trail to Polperro. Pass Mediterranean-style vistas and historic ruins, and arrive to find narrow streets, pretty cottages, and pedestrianised pathways lined with bakeries, exhibitions and the occasional Morris dancer.

We had a lovely stay at Alvaston. Lovely view and great location. Very comfortable sofa and beds and the property was equipped with everything you could think of, as well as many games and books and dvds. We enjoyed walking around Looe, sitting in the beach and looking in all the shops. The museum and goal was very interesting and well worth thRead moree 3 entry. We visited Polperro which is very pretty and has some lovely craft shops and we also visited Lanhydrock which is a National Trust property near Bodmin. Many lovely places to eat out - even for a coeliac like me, which was a bonus. We enjoyed Dottys, The Golden Guinea, Catch chip shop (everything can be done gluten free) and a lovely new cafe called the Island View near Hannafore beach, West Looe which overlooks Looe Island. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing break. Hide

This was our 3rd stay in Alvaston and we absolutely love the location (Looe is a wonderful town) and the house layout for us, is perfect. The car parking space makes this such a convenient place to stay in Looe. Unfortunately, our most recent stay was marred by very poor cleaning and the evidence of at least one dog in the property prior to us arrRead moreiving. If the cleaning can be improved we would not hesitate to stay again Hide

A spacious and well equipped property that is well located on the edge of Looe. It's a bit rough around the edges though and the property could be cleaner.
