This former fisherman’s cottage sits in the heart of St Ives’ old fishing quarter, overlooking Bamaluz Beach. Sleeping four guests, the property is perfect for couples and small families seeking a traditional Cornish getaway. Some of the town’s finest eateries are on your doorstep, and you’ll be within easy reach of several glorious beaches, including Porthgwidden and Porthmeor (both within 350 metres). After a busy day, curl up in an armchair in the top-floor lounge and admire the far-reaching sea views.
Four steps lead to the period property, which is arranged across four floors. Inside, you’ll find a characterful kitchen/diner, with exposed beams, wooden floors, and furniture to complement the style of the property. Rustle up delicious meals in the bright kitchen area, and come together for memorable mealtimes around the dining table. There’s also a cute area with armchairs and a TV. Cottage-style stairs lead down to a twin bedroom with an en-suite shower room. A second bedroom – a double – is located on the first floor, along with a family bathroom. A further flight of cottage-style stairs lead from here to the top-floor lounge, which boasts magnificent views across the bay. There is no outside space with this property, but with several sandy beaches within a 400-metre radius, you’ll have plenty of options for your morning stroll.
The cottage is 350 metres from the bustling harbour, which has a beautiful, sandy beach. It’s also a great place for hopping on a boat, to go exploring along the coast or visiting the wildlife on Seal Island. Keen walkers will be in their element, with the South West Coast Path passing through the town. The stretch from St Ives to Zennor is regarded as one of the most picturesque of the whole trail.
