This charming cottage in the heart of Downalong, St Ives is perfect for couples or a family looking for a restful holiday on the gorgeous Cornish coast. The property is less than 300 metres from Porthmeor Beach and Tate St Ives. St Ives is one of Cornwall’s top destinations and a beautiful seaside town where visitors can enjoy a traditional beach holiday. Enjoy exploring the shops, cafes, and restaurants and while away the days on the four sandy beaches.

This attractive and welcoming two-storey property with a light and airy feel, invites you to leave your everyday cares at the door and unwind from the moment you step inside. On the ground floor is an open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner with a coastal theme forming the heart of the home. There are two plush sofas to relax on, a 40" TV for evening entertainment and an electric fire for cooler evenings, making this a good choice all year round. Upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms: one king-size with a TV and en-suite shower and one double. There is also a shower room on this floor. Outside, to the front of the property is a courtyard with a bench, a perfect spot for your morning brew while you plan the day ahead.

If you want the best of the coast and the countryside, drive to Sennen Cove (18 miles) and explore this section of the Penwith Heritage Coast. You can walk the spectacular South West Coast Path to Land’s End (3 miles) from here. Alternatively, visit National Trust Godrevy (10.5 miles) and take in the views of the lighthouse and then walk down to Gwithian Beach and look out for seals in the cove on the way. We loved this place. Perfect position where you are so close to fore street and beaches but far enough away from the noise of the crowds. Central to all beaches and a very well equipped property. Highly recommended.

Very nice cottage in great location, only a stones throw from Porthmeor beach and town. Fully equipped and very clean. Nice little private outside courtyard which gets the sun in the morning. There's an outside tap to rinse wetsuits and a bench to hand them to dry. Bedroom in the Master is a bit squeaky and when you move the wardrobe wobbles. Perfectly placed accommodation convenient for the beaches, shops and everything St Ives has to offer, it served us well for a convenient comfortable family holiday. A few minor niggles with lack of equipment that you would expect for a holiday rental, but if we came again we would know to bring it along. Its worth noting there are clear signRead mores of damp in the bedrooms that shed onto the floor daily so if you suffer from Asthma or allergies you may wish to avoid. Hide
