Property code: OC-BAIL05

Filled with winding staircases, authentic beams and hardwood flooring, this St Ives property has been lovingly maintained with so much of its original coastal character yet updated to offer an exceptional holiday base. Tucked away on one of St Ives’ winding streets, just moments from the harbour, you’ll find yourself remarkably well-positioned for exploring all of the town’s eclectic attractions when staying in this delightful four-storey property. A grand choice for a group of family or friends, the property accommodates six guests in three equally inviting bedrooms.

As you step foot inside you’ll be instantly greeted by a kitchen, complete with a breakfast table and TV creating a fantastic space for your morning coffee. All three meals of the day can be enjoyed in the first-floor lounge/diner, an open-plan room fitted with an iPod dock for starting your day on a high-energy note. Alternatively, find yourself winding down for the evening with your feet up on the sofa and a film playing on the Smart TV/DVD. For those who prefer a little more privacy, find TVs in each of the three bedrooms, two of which are positioned on the first floor and the final double which is set beneath the sloping ceilings in the attic.

Although there’s no outdoor space in this town-centre property, there are less than 500 metres to walk to reach your nearest beach. Bamaluz Beach, along with Porthmeor Beach and Porthminster Beach (both less than 0.5 miles), is a vibrant destination filled with pristine golden sands and sparkling turquoise sea to swim in. For surfers, find a surf school for lessons or equipment hire within 500 metres. And, for those who don’t fancy sliding into a wetsuit, the sea full of surfers can be admired from a fantastic vantage point at Tate St Ives’ café.

Second time of staying at this property. Fab location and the massive bonus of a parking space at the top of Porthgwidden beach. The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped.

Great location. For town and all beaches. Seat outside, great for smokers, and people watchers, morning cup of tea etc., This property has no access by car, although a parking space comes with the property its a fair walk away, we had to park, and do 3 trips to empty the car and put the parking permit on. On leaving another 3 trips to get everythinRead moreg back to car. I would recommend one of those sturdy beach trolleys as that would carry all the small bags. Kitchen is well equipped, has a washer dryer (thankfully) love the first floor lounge/diner where we could all eat together. Great chill out area. Attic bedroom has good views and very light, also very noisy from seagulls like all homes around the coast. 2 proper bathrooms was great, we had a great week at this property, a good point is its close enough to Porthmeor beach and the harbour to pop back for the bathroom and to get more snacks. There is an area around the back of property where we left out paddle boards, body boards etc and everything stayed safe. We would certainly re book. Hide

We had a fantastic time in Opeway Cottage. It's extremely well equipped in all areas. Heating was superb, plenty of hot water and showers were great - good sized bathrooms. Beds were comfortable and there's plenty of seating in the living room and still space for 6 at the dining table. Wi-Fi was terrific - great when working away from home. Loads oRead moref sockets throughout the cottage for all those items that need charging. Baileys Lane itself was very quiet & peaceful, lovely to sit on the bench outside in the sun when it shone directly up the lane. Nice to get glimpses of the harbour from the top bedroom. Hide

We had a great family holiday ( apart from the weather ). The cottage was clean, well equipped and in a great location, just a stones throw from the harbour, beaches and restaurants. We would definitely book again.

Fantastic location with the added bonus of a parking space at Porthgwidden. We had a lovely holiday, with everything you could need apart from fantastic weather! Lots of stairs so perhaps not great for those with mobility issues, however, my 91 year old mum managed ok, although there was a few grumbles at times. Only negative for all of us weRead morere the pillows. They were not the best. Hide

We absolutely loved Opeway Cottage! We've been going to St Ives for years with our children and this year the boyfriends wanted to come along, so we were looking for a bigger property. Opeway suited us all perfectly and we have come home with some very special memories. The location was perfect for us, and even though it is very near Fore street, bRead moreecause it isn't accessible by car, the property is really quiet....which was a huge surprise. We are in the holiday business ourselves and have high standards, but Opeway couldn't be faulted. The linen was fabulous too and the two beautiful bathrooms were a huge surprise! We've always had quite basic accommodation in St Ives so really appreciated a great shower ! Thank you so much! Opeway will be top of our list next time we visit! Hide
