Property code: OC-IS014A

Traditionally styled apartment in a sought-after location in bustling tourist destination, St Ives. With restaurants, beaches, pubs and shops all within walking distance, this former fisherman’s cottage is perfect for families of four looking to see more of the Cornish coastline.

Let yourselves into the property and flick the kettle on in the charming kitchen/diner. The functional but wholesome kitchen area is well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay, while the dining table seats the entire party. Gather here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, before retiring to the lounge, where sinking into pillowy sofas and spending the evening watching TV is next on the agenda. Finish off the last drops of your drink, and head to bed in one of two pretty bedrooms, both with charming style. After a great night’s sleep, freshen up in the family bathroom, and start working on the day’s plans with the rest of the troop.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at one of St Ives’ award-winning cafés, before pottering around the maze of narrow cobbled streets, seeking out cute boutiques and galleries. Hang 10 at the blue flag-rated Porthmeor Beach, or simply admire the fine golden sands and beautiful topaz waters. Be sure to visit the Tate Gallery while you’re here. For something a bit different, go wildlife watching by catching a boat from St Ives harbour and see if you can spot dolphins and colonies of grey seals. Spend days at one of the four local beaches, all with gorgeous stretches of shoreline, or take the kids further afield to Flambards Theme Park (16.5 miles) for adrenaline-fuelled rides.

Cottage equipped with all you would need. My only comment would be to perhaps show in the handbook where the cooker switches on if turned off at the mains. Never had a problem before when staying there but this year it had been turned off with a switch at the top of the wall by the main outdoor.

Very accessible to beaches and town plus the Island car park is right there too. Always busy and you may have to wait a bit to get a space.
