After a long day exploring your stunning surroundings, follow the warmth of the roaring wood burner into the cosy first-floor lounge to unwind on the comfy sofas and enjoy the ultimate family film night in front of the Smart TV. When hungry tummies start to rumble, head downstairs to the contemporary farmhouse-style kitchen/diner to whip up a hearty feast with the local produce you’ve collected and make special family memories seated around the rustic dining table nestled beneath the impressive exposed wooden beams. Take a long soak in the gorgeous free-standing bath in the family bathroom before retiring to either of the two beautifully presented bedrooms for a well-earned rest. Soak up distant sea views and the fresh, coastal air by dining alfresco on the driftwood decking in the south-facing suntrap courtyard before admiring some breathtaking sunsets melting over the bay.

West of the market town of Penzance, the picturesque village of Mousehole retains its fishing village charm and character, boasting a maze of bustling narrow streets lined with independent shops, cafes and restaurants showcasing the best local produce this area has to offer. As soon as we'd unpacked we settled down to the unexpected treat of the cream tea and realised we'd stupidly locked ourselves in to the courtyard without a key. A simple What's App call and you rescued us. An immediate demonstration that you really have thought of everything. Beautiful cottage, beautifully furnished and maintained. It is not often the holiday let you view online is even better than the marketing pictures but that is the case with Seahorse Cottage - we booked it because the pictures made it look so lovely - but when we arrived it was even better. Beautifully kept with gorgeous nautical theme throughout. We must applaud the cleanliness, absolutely perfectly cleRead morean. Must also applaud the thoughtfulness for guests, every detail you can think of has been thought of. We could have packed less as apart from your clothes and some fresh food you don't need anything! I usually travel to self catering houses with my spice rack and cooking bits and pieces as we love to cook and I did this time along with the usuals - tea, coffee, dishwasher tablets, olive oil, salt and pepper etc - but the cupboards were stocked with all of these things (not to mention a scones upon arrival!) The house even had washing tablets if you need to do a wash while away. The other most important thing to us was how family friendly the house was. The attention to detail was very appreciated. When we arrived we thought it was going to be very difficult to watch our little 17 month old boy 100% of the time to ensure he didn't fall down the quite steep steps but under the stairs there were pressure fix stair gates that you can just put up if you need them. Not to mention a toy box full of toys, beach toys for outside, books and dvds for all ages. We brought along some books and toys for our little one but we didn't need to. There is even a buggy for you to use should you need that. The details didn't go unnoticed and made all the difference - White Company bed linen, Denby crockery, good quality cooking pans and utensils. All very appreciated! The location of the cottage is so quiet (apart from the seagulls!) It is just a 2 min walk to the harbour and all the little tearooms. We thought Mousehole was a beautiful little village and would definitely go back again. The harbour is gorgeous and very quaint. Thank you to the owners of Seahorse cottage for making our stay so comfortable and homely! Hide
