This charming cottage, situated in the small village of Trewellard just half a mile from Poldark-famous Geevor Tin Mine, is the perfect Cornish holiday home for families, couples or groups of friends. Sleeping four across two peaceful bedrooms, this property has a relaxing atmosphere that welcomes you home after a long day out exploring the beautiful coastline. Head along the South West Coast Path to the National Trust’s Levant Mine and Beam Engine (1 mile) and down to West Wheal Owles (2 miles) before heading back for a bite at the local pub, less than 100 metres from your front door.
You’re welcomed into the property straight into the cosy living room, where a stunning exposed brick fireplace with a wood burner sits among wood-panelled ceilings and calming blue and white tones. Curl up on the window seat that looks out across the front of the cottage with a good book. Cook up a storm in the bold shaker-style kitchen and eat at the delightful dining table, or sizzle up a BBQ out on the patio and dine alfresco. At bedtime, drift off to sleep in one of the bedrooms; both have a tranquil coastal theme, while the king-size offers views across the fields and out to sea.
Make sure you visit Land’s End (8 miles) where you’ll see incredible views of the coast; children will love Greeb Farm where they can meet all sorts of farm animals, and the 4D cinema experience. Nearby, Sennen Cove (7 miles) is a popular surfing spot and offers spectacular sunsets, plus if you’ve brought your dogs with you they can join you all year round – just between 6pm and 10am in the summer. Book a Shakespeare play or family-friendly event at the clifftop Minack Theatre (10 miles) for a unique day out.
