Property code: OC-MARIN2

Perfect for a couple or young family, this open-plan beachfront property offers panoramic views of Mount’s Bay, plus a suntrap patio and much-prized private parking.

Blending traditional Cornish charm with New England beach house style, this welcoming holiday home is a wonderful base for a laid-back family break. Smart coastal influences flow throughout the ground floor, where an open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner house all the essentials of home. There’s much to appreciate here, including super-fast Wi-Fi, but stealing the scene is the sea view through the glass doors that open onto the sunny front patio. The property’s unrivalled location comes to the fore on the first floor too, where the master bedroom – which has its own en-suite shower room – has a double bed and the same stunning outlook; wake up to the sea breeze and sound of the waves. Bunk beds ideal for younger guests are in the pretty second bedroom, and completing the layout of the upper floor – which has level access from the main entrance – is a family bathroom and utility area. Sit out on your patio for a breath of fresh air and instant relaxation; the beach is just a few metres away when you want to stretch your legs further.

Home to the UK’s most southerly working port, Porthleven has a gorgeous granite harbour where small boats land their daily catch, much of it headed for the town’s cafes, restaurants and fishmongers. Waves crashing over the sea defences can be a photographer’s dream, while on calm days, low tide reveals intriguing rock pools close to the harbour entrance. Stroll along the pier wall for a breathtaking view of the famous clock tower, Porthleven Beach and Mount’s Bay. 6 miles away, Praa Sands has family-friendly fine white sand bordered by wild headlands and backed by grass-topped dunes; 9 miles from your holiday home, St Michael’s Mount at Marazion is a must-see.

Clean and comfortable, fairly well stocked, there are some things need to be updated, including rusty patio doors and windows. We do not consider it value for the money. See above. Cottage really is in need of a refresh, but we have stayed in it many times and are now used to it!

Lovely location and outlook. Comfy and spacious enough for happy lounging on wet days. Parking space a bonus. Would definitely revisit.

Beautiful location with sea views. There is a parking space in front of the property, so really ideal. Short walk to the harbour and a beautiful walk in the opposite direction, to Loe Bar lake. The property provided everything you would expect of a holiday let. It is also positioned in a good central spot of Porthleven.

The cottage was in an ideal location and was exactly as described. It was clean and comfortable and the view was fabulous. Probably could do with a few more glasses etc. if there are 4 of you but as there were only two of us that wasnt too much of a problem. Lots of lovely places to eat in Porthleven. I would definitely recommend.

One of the best locations in the village with glorious sea views. Just a few minutes walk to the harbour with all its shops, pubs and restaurants. The parking slot would be pretty tight for a large car, fortunately we only have a modest one but at least it does have that benefit which many properties with good views do not have.

Over the years Ive stayed in at least seven different cottages on Loe Bar Road, and this is my absolute favourite, theres nothing I dont like about it and I always feel very much at home. Its comfortable, well equipped, and the location is perfect. Going to sleep listening to the sea is my idea of heaven
