Become a local during your stay at this charming cottage on the outskirts of a pretty village with a great pub 100 metres away. It’s in a rural location, 2 miles from the coast, and there are shops and restaurants in St Just 1 mile away. The cottage has a cosy wood burner and an enclosed courtyard, perfect for a family holiday with your four-legged friend.

This sweet stone cottage has lots of charm, with bright interiors and gorgeous original features, like the wooden beams and floors. Rustle up dinner in the kitchen area of the open plan living space, then enjoy it together at the dining table. On the evenings sit around the wood burner in the inglenook fireplace and watch the Freeview TV or put on your favourite DVD. There are two bright bedrooms, a king with a handy wardrobe and a double with storage under the bed. There’s also a family bathroom for quick showers and long soaks. On warm evenings, take your glass outside to enjoy the last of the sun while Fido roams in the pretty, enclosed courtyard. If you fancy dinner al fresco, there’s a kettle charcoal BBQ.

Take your pick of rural and coastal walks, you’re perfectly placed for both here. As the historic mining centre on the peninsula, you’re likely to come across disused engine houses on your walks. Take a tour of Geevor Tin Mine, a World Heritage Site sitting on the cliffs above the “Tin Coast” just 3 miles away. Head to St Ives (14 miles) to visit the Tate; there’s a good local bus service if you want to leave the car at home. Be sure to visit the local pub for drinks or dinner (100 metres away) during your stay, where canine visitors will be given their own treats.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king, 1 double
  • 1 bathroom with shower over freestanding bath and WC

We loved this cosy and warm cottage. Great base to leave the car and wander into the coast path, only a few minutes walk away, stopping at The count House for a lovely coffee and cake. The cottage is situated in a perfect area for walking, lots of walks to choose from and the buses were regular and just down the road. The Cottage was warm and the beds were very comfortable and the water was always lovely and hot. To make the stay more customer friendly the information pack needs to be kept up to date as it is way out of date, incRead moreluding the bus time table which should have been changed in September and the wi-fi codes as there were two different codes in the pack! The parking spot really is not big enough , even for a small car. My small Audi could not fit in as the back end would have stuck out into the road, on a bend! so really it should not be advertised as parking for a small car ... a Fiat 500 maybe or a Smart car would fit, nothing bigger. Very welcoming cottage, with scones and clotted cream provided for cream teas. Kitchen well stocked with pots, utensils etc. and lots of games and books for rainy days. Used the log burner a couple of times which made it nice and cozy. The beds were very comfortable and extra blankets were also supplied. Coming from a city it was great to not heaRead morer anything outside at night times so I could sleep well. The cottage is ideally located to access the SW coastal path and the Cornish mining heritage sites. It is a 30 minute walk to St Just, with lots of nice shops, cafes bars and art galleries.
