Property code: OC-LAMPHO

Explore the wonders of Porthleven and the southern tip of Cornwall before coming home to a modern home located on the seafront. This remarkable home has stunning sea views and is within walking distance to the pubs, shops and restaurants.

Neutrally decorated, this reverse-level property is a relaxing home from home. Head upstairs to the open-plan lounge/diner which is a great spot for socialising over a cuppa or two, while the pillowy sofas provide endless comfort. Lap up the magnificent sea views over fish dishes and bottles of wine at the dining table situated near the window, or treat the group to a seafood supper down at the local pub. Stairs lead down to both bedrooms: a king-size and a twin room with its own en-suite. Plate up at the breakfast bar to fuel a day of adventures, and enjoy your meal on the enclosed terrace with the rest of your troop.

Avid walkers, intrepid explorers and art enthusiasts will adore the location of this modern property. Right from the doorstep, guests can make the most of its sought-after location with a walk down to the centre of Porthleven. Two art galleries showcase jaw-dropping masterpieces, both half a mile from the house, while the town is also home to souvenir shops, cake and coffee stops, and many award-winning restaurants. Jump on the South West Coast Path and make the 5-mile trek over to Loe Bar to see its rugged harbour. Build sandcastles, go rock pooling and try water sports at the glistening sands of Porthleven Beach, close to your doorstep.

Fantastic location, easy parking (for Porthleven), quick walk into the harbour and very pleasant lay out of upstairs. Nice to have a enclosed back area too. Recommended and we certainly would return.

The Lamphouse is a lovely place to stay. The bench seats around the table looking out through the big windows was my favourite place to sit and just while away the time - knitting or reading. The kitchen was very well stocked with equipment too. As a non drinker I would have preferred a bottle of mile instead of the bottle of wine, but that's jusRead moret my opinion. Comfortable bed too which was was nice. We were very blessed with the weather which made the holiday just perfect. Hide

If you are looking for a relaxing property with a sublime view over Mount's Bay, you cannot do better than the Lamp House. Set 15 minutes' gentle walk out of Porthleven itself, the distance pays for itself at Food Festival time (three days in early May) when the town becomes somewhat noisy. Within easy reach of Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Glendurgan and Read moreTrebah Gardens, there is also an hourly bus service towards either Penzance or Falmouth, so you can leave the car packed up. Local food establishments such as the Twisted Currant (for wonderful lunches and cream teas) and Catch, the place to go for an ENORMOUS fish and chips (most will only need one between two!) Both these establishments also provide gluten-free offerings, as does the Harbour Inn. Hide

A well-located cottage- the perfect size for four of us. The view from the front windows is unbeatable. Generally well-equipped with everything we needed for a great holiday in a beautiful part of Cornwall.
