Take some time away with your family to explore the beauty of mid Cornwall on a stay in this charming single-level barn conversion with wonderful views from every window. Discover the historic interest and walking trails in the granite moorland that is Bodmin Moor (5 miles) where you could easily spend a week exploring the ancient settlements and monuments surrounded by natural beauty.

Upon entering the property you’ll be greeted by the open-plan living area which has been tastefully decorated in keeping with the property’s original character. Relax on one of the two neutral sofas in front of the woodburner with a film on the TV or sit up at the dining table to play a number of board games together as a family to fill your evenings. The kitchen is compact but offers everything you’ll need to cook up meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during your stay. At bedtime, two rooms are on offer for a restful night’s sleep, featuring a king-size bed with pops of colour throughout, and a twin room in hues of blue. Finally, there is a family shower room. Outside, an enclosed patio area offers privacy for your morning coffee or evenings spent dining al fresco.

Ideally located to allow easy access to both the coast and the countryside of Cornwall, there are a whole host of fantastic things to do whilst staying here. For a taste of the sea, head west and visit the seaside village of Rock (13 miles) which has a stunning sandy beach well suited to families. Alternatively, why not see the fishing port town of Padstow (17 miles) where you’ll be able to indulge in fine fresh locally caught fish at a number of eateries, or sit and enjoy an ice cream on one of the pretty beaches in the area? Venture to different climates on a trip to the Eden Project (19 miles) to explore the two giant biomes filled with unusual and interesting plants or discover the forgotten grounds of The Lost Gardens of Heligan (27 miles).

A lovely comfortable cottage with great views and a great shower! Wifi was very limited in the evenings but being at the top of a hill meant the mobile signal was good for planning the next day's activities. Jane & her husband are wonderful hosts.

Everything was excellent. The score of 4 for equipment is only because we think the television in the main room is a bit small and a larger one would be perfect. Its an observation, not a criticism. The setting is superb, the views, especially from Otterbridge, are glorious. The wood burner and ability to buy more logs is a bonus too. The whole Read morehouse has little touches which are very thoughtful and kind., especially for Christmas when we were there. Beautiful decorated tree, lovely welcome tea tray with a superb free guide book as a gift and even a present under the tree. All So lovely we immediately booked again for early summer 2023. Hide

Excellent. We loved the cream tea goodies and what a lovely warm welcome when we arrived. It was great to see Dillon, although a lot older but still looking for treats. We can't wait to return in September this year. You must be so proud of what you have done. We wish you every success with Penrose Burden.
