Treat yourselves to a stay in this delightful, dog-friendly cottage in rural north-east Cornwall. Sleeping four guests, the airy, two-bedroom retreat nestles in scenic surroundings less than 3 miles from bustling Bude and Summerleaze Beach. With access to a shared, lawned garden for sunny days and with a wood burner to bask beside on winter evenings, this makes a superb hideaway for a small family with a dog at any time of year.
Head into the holiday home and make your way through to the kitchen to unpack the fresh provisions you have sourced on your latest excursion. Make a cup of tea to enjoy with the fresh scones and clotted Cornish cream you have also bought then wander through to the lounge to switch on the TV. Rustle up a bigger meal later on then call everyone through to the dining room, lighting the wood burner on chilly days. As night falls, climb the stairs up to the first floor of the cottage, where the double bedroom and bunk bedroom are situated. There is also a family bathroom up here. Dine out in the sunshine on your private patio when the weather is warm enough. Take the children and your pet to play games on the large lawn. There is parking for two cars at this cottage.
Pack a picnic and head off Summerleaze Beach to swim in the sea or dip in the tidal, salt water pool. You can also hire surf boards and kayaks here and arrange to go out on sea fishing boat trips. Pick up the South West Coast Path here too, embarking on the 10-mile section to Crackington Haven, if you are a keen hiker. Have a day out to the National Trust’s picturesque beach at Sandymouth Bay, also 3 miles from your base.
