This delightful country cottage, just 2.5 miles from the village of St Columb, offers a perfect base for exploring Cornwall’s beautiful coast and countryside. The beautifully furnished property sleeps six guests, plus two canine companions, and is full of character. Set in the peaceful hamlet of Trevarren, it is within easy reach of glorious north coast golden beaches as well as Newquay, 7 miles away. St Columb has a good range of shops and eateries, with dog-friendly pubs where your pets will receive a warm welcome.
The detached cottage is light and bright throughout. Ceiling beams enhance the period charm of the spacious lounge, which houses comfortable sofas and a multi-fuel stove in a beautiful wooden fireplace. French doors in the pretty white kitchen and dining area open onto the patio and garden. Upstairs are three lovely bedrooms: a sumptuous king with a small chandelier; a twin; and bunk beds. The glamorous, all-white bathroom houses a rolltop bath and a large silver mirror. Outside is a raised garden to the rear, with a lower-level enclosed patio and outdoor furniture. Please take care with children, as this drop is unguarded.
The cross-country Atlantic Coast Line linking Par in the south to Newquay offers the best of both worlds. A station on the line is within a 0.5-mile walk of the cottage and the 20-minute journey ends in the centre of the surf capital. Newquay is renowned worldwide for its 11 glorious, golden, beaches; several are dog-friendly throughout the year, including Watergate Bay and Fistral beach. Castle-an-Dinas, just outside St Columb, is an impressive, well-preserved Iron Age Fort and an ideal spot for walking your pets. Meet owls, hawks and falcons at the local Cornish Birds of Prey Centre.
