Indulge in a peaceful retreat with your special someone at this lovely shepherd’s hut set in a pretty complex of properties in the picturesque village of Golant. Sleeping two people in one bedroom, this is the perfect accommodation option for romantic couples or solo travellers who want to swap the hustle and bustle of everyday life for some peaceful time in Cornwall. During the day, visit the historic town of Fowey to admire its medieval and Georgian buildings. In the evening, come home to the cottage to take a relaxing dip in its private hot tub while the stars come out.
Step inside and you’ll discover a beautifully designed, boho-chic living and sleeping area. Make yourself at home in the cosy living area that features a cosy wood burner, before heading to the compact kitchen area to rustle up some dinner. Enjoy a hearty meal at the cute corner dining table, or head out to the lovely private garden, fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco. After dinner, take a dip in the outdoor hot tub, head back to the living area to warm your toes by the wood burner, or head off to the complex’s shared games room. Alternatively, treat yourself to a pint at the on-site bar, which has been cleverly created out of an old silo (open every Friday from March to October). At the end of the day, a stylish double bed ensures a restful night's sleep. Completing the layout is the modern, en-suite shower room. When you wake up in the morning, take full advantage of the shared indoor swimming pool, sauna, gym and badminton court (please book your time slot on arrival).
Pack up a picnic and head to Polkerris Beach (4 miles) – it’s a great spot for kayaking, paddleboarding and sailing. Alternatively, step back in time at Lanhydrock House (8 miles), a Jacobean mansion refurbished in high-Victorian style.
