The sleek bathroom leads off the kitchen, while steps down take you to the charming lounge/diner. Enjoy your meals at the circular table before snuggling up by the fire. There’s a Smart TV, too, if you want to catch up with a favourite show. An open-tread staircase takes you to the first floor, where there are two bedrooms: one king-size, with an en-suite WC, and the other a super-king-size, or a twin on request. For a breath of fresh air, either step out of the doors in the lounge onto the front patio, where you can sit and listen to birdsong, or head to the lawned back garden, with its outdoor furniture and dining table and chairs - a tranquil spot surrounded by trees and hedges.
Rock is a small village with a big reputation. As well as a beautiful beach - 1.5 miles from the cottage - it offers a variety of excellent places to eat, and is home to the UK’s largest waterskiing centre. After a few days on or in the water, you could change things up by taking the ferry across the estuary to Padstow, where there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants to explore, or head to the legendary castle of Tintagel, 14 miles.
